Question 2025 AMG E53 - Dynamic Plus Package

I love the look of the red brake calipers and the larger discs on the Dynamic Plus package - which my car does not have. Has anyone looked to switch the OE with the DP+ brake equipment? I believe only the fronts are different, the rears are the same regardless of the package. Please let me know if my assumption is incorrect. Thank you.

Why not just paint the calipers red?

Or just wrap them.

As for the different size rotors, I don't see the problem of retrofitting them.

That is a consideration, however, the calipers on the DP+ package, at least in the front, are larger that the OE (6 piston vs. 4 piston). Not to mention that the cost of painting the calipers is ranging between $1500-$2000. So, if I'm spending that much, I thought it may be more prudent to get a better brake system out of it. That, of course, depends on the price of the brakes, etc.

I do not think so: you may be off by a factor of between 10 and 15.

I don't believe you can wrap them unless the material can withstand the high temperatures. To paint them, you need special paint. I don't know if there is a vinyl that can take that heat.

Yeah - I've checked options on this and the best approach appears to be to powder coat and that requires disassembly, etc. which is quite pricey.

Will check with the dealer for the parts cost - and estimate and also check with a MB certified tech on cost to install new. I'll update when I've got more details.

If you like the other items in the Dynamics Plus Package I would recommend it.

Anecdotally, I did some very hard braking yesterday (odd traffic light timing) in my E53 and the weight of this car (5,100 + lbs) surprised me a LOT. I was very grateful I was on fat summer tires with the 390mm rotors up front.
Note: I was in Sport+ , so maybe some of the early braking moments were battery recoup instead of 100% braking - not sure.

Good thinking, what temperatures are we expecting for example, I seen people wrapping calipers with no issues but might not be performance cars like these?

Well, your brake system can boil water so at least 212°F. According to this article, they can exceed 400°F.

That is quite an extreme. I wonder what the temperature will be when it is being driven on the track.

I have found that the calipers in my EQS SUV as well as in the E53 Hybrid do not get very hot even after spirited driving.

Perhaps regen helped, do you mind taking some temperature measurements? Although you really don't have to if it is too much of a hassle.
