Just received a build sheet for my 2026 E450. The new MSRP is $72,300. The build sheet is attached.

The build sheet does not include destination charge, TBD.

Hope this helps everyone on the Board!

Do you know something specific or in general prices are subject to change?

The dealer is working on lease quote based on these numbers.

E53 disappeared from list. Not to be found under E-class or plug in hybrid.

I went to Rallye where I know the General Sales manager, Rich DeAngelo.

I lease: the monthly lease rate from Rallye for the E450, 7,500 miles per year, 48 months with Driver assist, Burmester sound, digital light and heated steering wheel, MSRP $77,970 was $1205 per month. That means lease payments total $57,840 for a $77,000 car. That did not make sense to me.

The MF was .0032, 7.68%, the residual 50%, Rallye discount 5% off of MSRP.

I crossed shopped the Audi A6 and BMW 540i: The BMW 540i with Driver assist, Premium package, Bowers sound system, spare tire, free maintenance for the first 3 years, MSRP $74,425 7,500 miles per year, 39 months, not 48 months, came to $895 per month, total payments $34,905, for 48 months $42,960. The BMW also came with HUD.

I could not justify paying that much extra for the E450 over the 540I, plus the lease on the BMW was only 39 months instead of 48 months on the E450..

It was a very easy decision: I decided to get the BMW.

Hope this helps others.

That's a pretty drastic difference between the lease rates of the MB and the BMW ! If I were leasing, and were in your boat, I would have gone BMW too. Plus the new BMW 5-series has a significantly larger rear legroom, if I am not mistaken, which is a big plus.

Yes the rear seat has more leg room.

One plus for the Mercedes: the panel in the trunk lifts up and there is storage space underneath. The trunk panel in the 5 series does not lift up. The BMW does not come with RF tires. Instead they give you a tire inflator kit. I opted for the space saver spare, $150 option which in the lease is about $70. I intend to carry a jack and my impact wrench in the trunk. Another plus is the free maintenance for 3 years!

Other than lease payments all I should have to spend money on is gas and a set of wiper blades!

You certainly made the right choice, for your use-case. Plus, every publication talks about how BMWs are now one of the most reliable brands being sold, with their drivetrain comprising of the Turbo Inline-6 and the ZF 8-speed, being rated as an excellent combo, for both fuel efficiency, power and long-term reliability.

Had always been a Bimmer guy (owned an X5 too), but found 5 Steering wheel awkward and, despite what every magazine writes, found the E a better drive than the 5 (no rhyming intended). Despite the $6K difference, went with E.

Having been driving E Class for the past 10 years and familiar with the electronics so the learning curve going to a new E450 would have been easier than a BMW 540i, I too might have considered paying an extra $6000. But $885 for 39 months vs. $1205 for 48 months is closer to over $10,000 more and that I thought that was too much. Additionally service for the first three years on the BMW is free. That is an additional savings of close to $2,000.

For me over $12,000 difference is too much of a price premium to pay for the E450 vs. the 540i.

Were you able to find a A6 55? I didn't find a single one on the island, not even in NJ, back in 2024. Was told people rarely went with 3.0 so dealers kind of forgot it.

The only A6's I was able to find were either black or had oversize wheels, neither of which I am interested in.

The lease payments were $1050 a month, no money down. However this was for a 2025 not a 2026 model. The 2026 will not be out until after January 1 and my wife absolutely forbids me to ever again buy the first year of production, so that left the Audi A6 out. I have not interest in the A5, so I cannot help your there.

Congratulations! The 540i is an excellent car. Did you sell or keep the 2019 E450?

I am selling my E450 to a friend who just turned 80. He wants it as a birthday present! If the deal falls through I will list it on Cars.com

The E450 will be a nice 80 year-old birthday present!

A nice thing about the 540i is that Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires fit the 19” and 20” wheels. After having a Mercedes with three fast-wearing run-flat tire options, I now check which tires are available for a car before I buy it. In the Northeast the CrossClimates work fine as a winter tire, and sometimes I am lazy and run them in the summer too.

Have you considered selling the 450 to Carvana or Carmax if the birthday sale falls through, or will you get more money in a private sale on Cars.com?
