Exclamation Active Braking Assist Issue

Greeting: First time I received a message that my Active Braking Assist was temporarily limited. There was a yellow pic below the driver monitor of two cars, one kissing the trunk of the first car.
My manual states that issues of auto braking and warning of an accident could be affected by this issue or warning. Had the auto one year and never received message of this nature.
Thoughts?

I recall seeing that message once this year. If I recall correctly it was included among a list of other safety features that were also disabled at the same time. I attributed the message to a dirty camera or sensor.

I had a similar issue. Initially I thought it was dead bugs messing up the sensors or the sun shining in the cameras, but it seemed to happen at random times even when the car was clean or night time. I finally brought it in for service. Turned out to be a bad connection under the steering wheel. Never had the problem since.

People who have been driving cars for 50 years, most of which had no modern safety features, probably feel comfortable driving with an occasional disabled feature. I suspect that if you pulled over to the side of the road and called MB, they would recommend getting the car towed to the nearest dealer.

True, but what's your point?

I'm wondering if that recent software update to "increase robustness..." was to reduce these mishaps. I would occasionally get similar messages that would clear after a restart and have not gotten them (yet) with the update installed.

Thanks, Wolf. Active Brake System warning now off. I have a MB app next Tuesday. Will tell them about the connection under the steering wheel.
Most appreciative.

This was the service notes for my issue. When I looked up LI46.10-P-078012, I got the document attached to this post. Note, the dealership did not give this to me. I found it online.

Interesting. My dealer always includes the service notes and diagnostic results in the packet given to the customer at checkout. I keep them in a file for historical reference.

My guess is he is making an old school observation. Ignore it, and it will go away. Even if it doesn’t go away, if it’s not important, ignore it, deal with it, and live without it.

To be clear, the image on my post was from the invoice the dealership provided for my service. The attached PDF was from an online search of the campaign number listed in my service information.
