Price I paid for Service A & B at Dealership

Just wanted to share this in case anyone wants to compare it with their dealer prices.

My E 350 was due for Service B.

Local dealer said the price for Service A was $308 and Service B was $791, or if I buy both together they will give a bundle discount for $749 (tax included). So with the bundle you're prepaying for Service A & B for $749 total, which is what I did.

My indi shop that I took my previous E-class to wanted $200 for Service A and $390 for Service B, but that shop is 20 miles further and they don't have loaners. I contacted another Mercedes indi shop closer to me and they wanted $650 just for Service B, which I thought was crazy.

There was also an open service campaign to update the software unit, which can only be done at the dealer, so that's another reason I chose the dealership.

After a few hours you get the standard phone call from the service advisor trying to upsell you on recommended services. They said the wipers were streaking and would replace them for $80. They also recommended an annual wheel alignment for $280 even though the tires were wearing evenly. I politely declined both.

They washed the car afterwards, but somehow it was dirtier than when I brought it in. The other downside is all of the people that get in & out of your car at the dealer causing scuff marks on the inside of your door and scuff plate. I had to clean that up when I got home.

My dealer in suburban Maryland is about the same price, provides a loaner, coffee, snacks and is 5 minutes from my house. If you have a lease or are original owner or making payments to mbusa, send them a nice note saying how much you love the car, and have recommended the brand to everyone, and ask for a courtesy $100 credit for service. Worked for me!

Yah, seems like what I paid a couple of weeks ago at the indy I use: it was 295 for A3 service. I feel like it has gone up the last few years but what can ya do? (besides the work yourself)
They also have great loaners but recently started charging unless your service visit exceeds 500 bux.

Dealership courtesy washes used to drive me FAWKIN crazy!

I had my first service A done in November at the dealer. Was charged $439.17. They charged me $8.44 for windshield washer fluid which I know was already full.

That's ridiculous! If I were you I would not go back to that dealer. Topping off all the fluids is already part of Service A/B, so they shouldn't be charging you extra for windshield washer fluid.

Wiper Blades used to be included in at least the big service AKA B.

But I see if you go thru EXPRESS it is included see screen shot of MB owners web page

The last time I had service, I told the SA not to replace the wipers. That was a good move as my E450 Wagon was totaled a short time later when I was sitting at a red light. I had planned to replace them myself. My dealer always tops off the wiper fluid but I have never seen it as a separate charge. I purchased my new E450 Wagon in another state so had to bring it to my dealer for an inspection sticker after driving it for a few months. In addition to the inspection, they topped off the fluid and the total bill was $10.

Here’s the invoice: And $24 for a plastic drain plug seems a little ridiculous to me.

Looks like they are splitting out the parts and labor separately. The A service is $439 with $281 in labor.

You got a bunch of software updates. Hopefully that fixes the check engine light.
