This is the best TB period for the E55 and 55 S/C motor! There are no wire swaps are other modifications needed to be made like on other 82mm kits..

I took the pic next to a stock 74mm TB and you can see this is a plug and play TB and even the PCV hose on the bottom is the same.. This TB is also the stock lenght, so your airbox does not hit the firewall, like on some of the other 82mm being sold.. This is a rare TB to find and I also ported the shaft to add another 10% of air-flow.. This TB is in like new condition and only has about 3K miles on it..

What kind of gains should i expect?
Lastly, i have done a little looking around, but not much research > are the only other things i need to make this work are a y splitter and have my SC inlet ported? Do i need an adaptor of some kind?

Yes, this will work on all the 55 s/c motors.. I have a CL55 and it has the same ECU as your car. Yes, you need a Y splitter and a machined adaptor. Several places can supply those ..

You can port the stock inlet or buy the 80mm inlet and use it.. Either way, you will need a welded on adaptor or buy one of the machine adaptors made to fit.. I have a 80mm inlet, 82mm MB throttle body and a 82mm adaptor to mate them all together.. It is all plug and play and no codes..

Depending on mods, people post 20 plus rear wheel horse power gains.. I make 560 RWHP and my car is insanly fast on the street! All that power comes from 4 mods. Pulley, tune, 82mm TB and headers.. The other stuff , is icing for the cake..

So which is better to buy the 80mm inlet or have mine ported?? I have seen some side by side pics and it looks like the 80mm inlet is larger than the 74 (not the port but the entire assembly)???

Where can i buy an adaptor plate to weld on?
You wouldn't be interested in selling your inlet and adapter plate with the TB would you??

80mm inlet is better.. IMO

Eurocharged has adaptor plates. Few other places listed on the forum, as I recall. If you buy the 80mm, you can have someone weld an adaptor on too. Lot of ways to go and you will save a ton of money..

What i have seen you get the y split from the airbox too from the tuners, is that one from a new sl 55 ? Some one who have the part number ?
