SL55 AMG
FS: PTE/VRP camshafts
These are for V8 55 cars supercharged or not from my understanding. Made by Pat (PTE) for VRP originally then a few remaining sets were available to the enthusiast market. I bought these directly from Pat at PTE.
You will have to contact Pat (PTE) for any infomation or questions about application, he is a member on MBworld.
These go for $2800 new, I'm asking $2300 plus shipping for the set
Please email me at sunirghosal@hotmail.com instead of PM...my allotted PM numbers are getting up there.
Notes:
(a) I do not have pics, they are packed in the original packaging (tubes) and ready to ship
(b) they were only used around 1800 or so miles

I am offering these camshafts at a very reasonable price for the usage - Pat has agreed to inspect and clean and polish, thank you Pat.
These make gobs of power but are too agressive for my comfort (getting older I guess), I am not in need for maximum hp, I have all that I need out of this car.

Bump...I have the PTE camshaft and I love the look when people walk by when the car is at idle...it is usually a "WTF is in that car" look. Sunir is right...it is an acquired "taste" but still a great quality product.

Cams Questions
I've attached 2 Youtube video's You can see the rpm never lays down & Pulls to 6800 rpm , No loss of bottom end Torque. The other is the cold start up. & Idle quality on a Mass air flow sensor type system. The motor holds 17" of Mercury at a idle in gear. Takes about 300 miles of adaptation for the idle to smooth up a little. This car Has a Modern horsepower ECU & TCU tune , It works very well and Andy did not disappoint me.

I have wanted a lumpy stumbling idle out of my car since the day I've owned it..the kind that spills your cup of coffee at the stoplight..now that my motor is out I would love to do something similar. Would you say the 55 N/A motors need a more aggresive or appropriate N/A grind?

These cams are as big as you can go. Low speed driveability goes to Hell if I open the intake valve any sooner, and then if done , there is a clearence issue. These M-113 motors are built very exacting. Not much room to add for more valve lift.
These are limited production Cams. So used ones will hold their value. I have only 3 sets left out of 40 sets built.

bump...cams still for sale, have not heard back from my "first dibs" buyer yet...
as for fitting a clk550, I think it should work but you will have to ask Pat (PTE) the maker of these cams for answers to that and any other technical question you may have...

Are these more aggressive than the Kleemann cams? I love the sound from the videos. I am about ready to start performance mods. Cams, headers, throttle body, and tune are the only things on my list so far.

BENZ 550
clk550 already has better cam shafts than clk55 and a few cars faster so i dont want to down grade just to get cam shafts. i guess i will just wait if something comes out for my engine.

Do you know how many cams your car uses? You need four of them while we only need two.
By the way Kleemann sells cams 4 your car.
