FS: Bosch 85MM Throttle Body $600

I have a Bosch 82mm Audi TB which I had ported to 84.9MM by MAXBORE. The bore is tapered, and measures 86MM at inlet and 84.9 at base.

In order to use the Audi throttle body, there are some things that need to be done:

You must swap the MB Actuator Cap on the side of the Bosch TB
You need a cross over cable due to the fact that the TB opens in the opposite direction.

BOTH OF THESE ARE DONE AND INCLUDED!!!!!

All you need to do to fit this to a 55 Supercharged engine is get the 80MM Inlet plenum and have it modified to accept the 85MM TB. I would recommend Bruce at TTM. He did my last mod and it works perfect, with no CEL EVER.

I started the project right after I did my 82MM upgrade, and frankly, I just don't want to pull my SC off AGAIN. It is fun and all....

Others are running this TB and most ran into the issues outlined. The Audi TB is not a direct bolt up. But once you change caps and get the crossover, the unit is plug and play (pending plenum work)

I am selling this for less than I have into it simply because I know I will not get to the project, and I hate to see it on my work bench everyday. It needs to be on a FAST CAR!

I know it is cheap, so first come, first served (Paypal). I think you will find I am well respected on the forums, and Bruce helped walk me through the set up, so call him in advance if you want to verify how this bad boy will work. I will ship same day (except Sunday)

Dane

I added up what I put into this, and $600 may be high. Even though this post is only one day old, I am going to drop my price to $400.

The (ported) 82MM TB upgrade is a great upgrade, however it is one of the more expensive ones. In addition to the plenum work (again- see Bruce), you will need a new Y-Pipe. I test fitted the one I am using now on my 82MM and the fit is perfect.

so: $400

You Can Not Beat That... PERIOD!

The Y-Pipe is $174 at Dealer. There are two options on the plenum:

Cut stock plenum and weld on a plate for the TB
Buy 80MM Plenum ($270) and have the holes modified (Bruce TTM- $450)

After that, it is just the labor to install.

I hope that helps

Yes a tune would be required, and it looks like it is sold. When I did my 82MM I had Jeremy at OE Tuning re-tune the same weekend. I did not want to stress over AFR's. Extra air=tune

I am sure the madman who is buying this will report back. I know he has a tuner as well

If you have 82 on there now all you have to do is take off the old TB and bolt on the new one, the only reson you have to pull the SC is that the bolt pattern and hole is diffrent.
There may be a mismatch at the hole into the SC?

You need an adapter plate like what we supplied to Eurocharged.
It allows you to use the 82mm housing from the SL55 with this throttle body.

Not true, you can have the 80mm inlet housing modified to except the 82mm tb. The only thing you need is a good fab guy

Hi, guys.

I'm the happy new owner of Dane's 85mm TB. Bruce at TTM set me up with a ported supercharger inlet to go with it. Photos below.

I plan to install the TB along with Bruce's new fuel rail and injector system (Some info here: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...-oe-tuned.html) and high flow cats, then get an updated engine tune to go with the new bits.

As I mentioned to Bruce in email, my wife wonders why I keep buying parts for a car that isn't broken!
