It has around 40k on it, not sure on exact performance difference but you can do a search on the forum I remember reading about it a while ago.

the stock is a clutch style system, quaife is torsen style system. This article can help explain the difference:

Its my understanding that the group by quaifes are different than the ones distributed in the USA by other dealers. Those are Chrysler application diffs that people are using in their mercedes and the group buy are mercedes spec diffs. I'm not entirely clear on the differences, but you can call the place providing the group buy to fill you in.

I had oem P030 LSD installed on my E55 last summer and I've been perfectly happy with it. It took 8 hours to have it done so that will add some cost unless you are able to do it by yourself.

After doing more research and seeing that it's an 8 hour job, I might as well get new. So I'm pretty much looking for a quaife then, no stock lsd
