Sorry if this is a question that has been answered before, but I'm trying to get a handle on the ordering process. It's my understanding that if I walk into my MB dealership, and they have been allocated 2023 EQB's that have not been spoken for, that I can order an EQB 300 at the present time. Perhaps in a month or so the EQB 350 allocations would be made The ultimate price would depend on the dealer and if they are marking it up. Production would begin in early fall, with a possible mid to late fall delivery.
Is this accurate? Is there an expectation supply will meet demand, and it won't be the Hunger Games writ large in acquiring one? I have read horror stories of scarcity of all EV's and of course the markups. How scarce will the EQB's be? Does anyone know how many MB plans on producing for the US market in 2023? I'm just trying to arm myself with as much information before I go into a dealer. Obviously buyers are kind of in a bad spot right now in general with the shortages, stoppages, etc. Thanks for any insight. FWIW I'm in southern California.
What do you think about cancelling the "order", getting your $500 back, putting it in the market to earn $50, then buying a GLB350 when they show up in the showroom. Or buying one a year or two later as a preowned?
