we test drove the 2022 EQB 350 a few weeks ago - because I am not used to EVs we could only appreciate the drive in D+. D- and D were tough on the stomach.

But everything you said stands.

For wireless carplay, you can add a ViseeO Play2Air Small Wireless Carplay iPhone Adapter kit dongle with type-c usb plug:

Agreed, I use an adaptor in my SLC300 and it works perfectly. The port is hidden in the armrest which is convenient, I think on the EQB it is outside so will be visible? I choose CPlay2Air adaptor, it works better then the factory installed wireless CarPlay in my Mini SE, as that will refuse to connect sometimes or have audio dropout issues.

Mine is still on order, should be built any day now. My spec sheet says Heated Steering wheel. So hopefully it's on the build.

I agree the boxy look can be polarizing but it reminds me of the GLK or G Class.

Does the one pedal take you to a complete stop? How are the different modes?

3 miles per kW sounds goods. I'm getting about 3.8 average for my Mini SE.

D+, D, and D- basically assign varying levels of automatic regeneration when the 'gas' pedal is relaxed. D+ more closely mimics the declaration of a conventional petrol drivetrain while D- provides the most aggressive "one pedal" experience.

None will bring the vehicle to a complete stop.

Since the brake pedal also commands regeneration, unlike a Tesla, one can drive in any of the modes with only extremely minor, if any, changes in overall efficiency.

Is wireless carplay / android auto supposed to be included but are not due to chip shortages..etc?

IMHO, it is (or was) an intensional strategy of MB to encourage users to use the MB ecosystem as the EQB has, in theory, all the required hardware. They'll 'support' CarPlay to check the box for consumers and whatever agreements they signed with Apple, but that's it.

As background, the actual NTG6 MBUX hardware used across many MB model lines is produced in three levels, each with a more powerful Nvidia SOC (system on chip): MBUX 545 (Low), MBUX 548 (Medium), and MBUX 549 (High).

The 545 unit actually included wireless CarPlay as it did not support internal MB navigation but was quickly replaced in most cases, and across model lines, with the 548 hardware which curiously does not support wireless CarPlay. This to seems to be an intensional decision as the 548 CPU/GPU hardware is actually significantly more powerful. And, of course, 548 is also the standard MBUX hardware on the EQB.

Currently, the 549 hardware has the most powerful CPU/GPU and is typically installed when the Augmented Reality (U19) option is selected. As an aside, 549 also has the horsepower to also display a full NAV map on the drivers's side which is a common question of why some vehicles have that capability and others do not.

Also note that the newer NTG7 systems used on the EQS (and other revised ICE models) does support wireless CarPlay. In theory, MB could update NTG6 with that capability but there's been no public indication of MB having the desire or committing the resources to doing so.

EDIT: more NTG6 MBUX data for the curious: https://group-media.mercedes-benz.co...l?oid=32705799

No one pedal slows down but doesn’t stop completely. The mileage per KwH is decent. Do get bonus miles with one pedal but too early to compare

I test drove the 2022 EQB 350 and the release of the pedal in D- did seem to (nearly) stop the vehicle eg as one approaches a light

I put in an order two weeks ago, there was factory order restraint on heated steering, so it is not on my build.

is there any differences among 548 and 549 in carplay HUD turn-by-turn support? Some reports of Apple Maps turn by turn in HUD and some reports of not.

That’s one of those things that might differ by market. Here in the USA, for example, all EQBs with a HUD have 549 since it’s grouped in the Technology Package with AR navigation.

It also requires effort (admittedly, minor) on the part of the driver to make the proper display settings as turn-by-turn is not the default selection.
