We want to inform you about an update to the EQC launch timing.
Together we made great progress towards the successful launch of our first all-electric SUV; this includes new territory like the online customer reservation site, the distribution model, and the installations of the required charging infrastructure. The EQC launch in Europe and other markets earlier in 2019 generated high interest worldwide for the EQC. In a recent direction from Daimler AG, it is a strategic decision to first support the growing customer demand for the EQC in Europe. As a result of this decision, the U.S. market launch date of the Mercedes-Benz EQC will be rescheduled to 2021 (originally Q1 2020).
As we pivot from the plans we had in place for the product launch, we will be sharing more details with you about the implications as they relate to dealership personnel training, an updated deadline for the installations of charging infrastructure, and arrangements for a limited number of vehicles we will receive next year. We will be sharing these details with you in an NCU next week.
What does it mean by “arrangements for a limited number of vehicles we will receive next year”? Is that for dealers to allow customers to test drive or will they be selling a handful of EQCs? Also what does NCU stand for?
No idea. But they are going to have a hard time. Model Y will be out. Porsche Taycan-X will be out. Jaguar's iPace will have improved - it is already up to 268 miles of range.

“arrangements for a limited number of vehicles we will receive next year” means that every dealer dealer will receive a limited allocation number until the production can cover world wide demand. NCU= News Chanel Update
This is partly due to lack of sales/interest in the Audi E-Tron and Jag E-pace. They are not selling well and the Tesla sales are too strong. I predict the E-Mobility autos are in for a rough sales year and the issue will center around range. The Porsche Taycon range is only about 200 miles and that will not help sales. ICE forever!
So there’s a potential for a handful of clients to purchase a #EQC in 2020? How would someone get on top of that list with their dealer? Was ready to purchase this cash Q1, but as others mentioned, if we have to wait for 2021, Tesla Y will be considered.
