Charging Issues - A Cautionary Tale

We bought our EQE SUV in June. I charge it from a 14-50 plug in our garage using a Webasto cable. A few weeks ago I got a charging error notification on my phone while it was charging in the garage. I unplugged the cable and plugged it in again. It resumed charging without a problem. A week after that the same thing happened again. Last weekend I plugged into an Electrify America fast charger and after insuring that it started charging I walked away to do some shopping. When I returned about 20 minutes later I found that it had stopped charging after only a few minutes. I was pressed for time so I unplugged and went on my way. Tonight while charging in the garage I was again notified that charging had stopped. Unplugging and plugging in again did not solve the problem. Instead The car started making a rhythmic bell sound and various warning advisories showed up on the drivers screen - "high voltage battery fault", "12 volt battery fault", "put car in park or it might roll away" and finally "don't tow car".

I contacted Mercedes me from the car only to be told that I had the wrong number. When I called the number for the EV Mercedes me help line I was given I asked for road side assistance (whatever you do don't ask for customer service unless you want to wait for many minutes and then be cut off). I was told to do a soft reset by using the fob to lock and unlock the car three times. Then wait 5-10 minutes. That seemed to work -BUT I was told that I should do a soft reset every few times I charged the car. I will contact the local MB service tomorrow.

Sorry for the long post but I thought that it was worth passing along.

I took the car into the Mercedes Benz Service Department on Thursday afternoon. It was ready for me to pick up today at noon. They confirmed the charging issues and "performed control unit programming of the DC charger and software update to DC charger unit." I took the car to an EA America charger and it charged without issue.
The Service Department folks were outstanding.

I had similar electrical issues and was told there was a recall issued in October. Since then, I've had similar electrical error messages appear and my car is back at the MB dealer. I realize the technology is new, however, I'm growing very frustrated. Is anyone else having issues where seemingly the car prompts each electrical message and then all of the warning errors flash briefly? I've had this while driving and at times when I could not then start the car, which happened 3 times. I'm hoping they solve it this time, but not too optimistic. Just curious if it's a broad software issue or if I have a lemon.
