EQE SUV - Acceleration Increase

Curious if any EQE SUV 350 owners have purchased the acceleration increase ($60/mo or $1950 permanent in US). I’m tempted and will likely try it out for a month before committing, but wanted to hear if any you bought it and if it made a noticeable difference. I assume 60hp / 1 sec improvement in 0-60 is noticeable….thanks!

@bytemaster0 mentioned in another thread that he purchased the upgrade. It sounds like he thought it was worth it. I tagged him in my response so he could chime in with his experience. A couple of people on Facebook said they also paid for the update and are really happy with it.

I'm still waiting for my car to be delivered to the dealer (hopefully this week), so I haven't purchased the speed increase, but I likely will after I have had the vehicle for a month or so.

Yes, indeed. There's a thread about the acceleration increase in the main forum. Long story short, on EQE350V4 sedan, and using a race computer to measure, I'm getting 0-60 times of 4.49 seconds, which for a base model spec is pretty decent. It also definitely helps when merging on highways when you find that someone isn't going to be courteous in a tight cloverleaf merge pattern. On the 350s, whether sedan or SUV, the limiting factor is the traction inverter, not the motors or battery system.

Is there any indication or confirmation that this acceleration increase has been installed?

So for example, if someone buys a pre-owned car and the previous owner claimed that the lifetime acceleration increase has been purchased, is there anyway to verify that the car actually has it?

I see it activated in the Mercedes app - under manage services - safety and service - acceleration increase

You can see in the car under digital services that it's installed.

Have you noticed any appreciable loss of range when you are just driving normally after installing the acceleration boost?

So, I think we discussed in the main thread on the sedan forum, but no, there is no range difference whatsoever unless you activate boost. If you go to the Energy Flow screen, you can see that Boost only kicks in at above 80 or 90% throttle application. Otherwise, it's stock performance, and if you're gentle with acceleration as in normal driving, it won't affect range at all. FWIW, I bought it before delivery as the car was being PDI'd and showed in my Mercedes Me Connect. Yesterday in 60° unseasonably warm weather, I got about 268 Wh/mi in a mixed-driving with highway trip. So, yeah, it's not affecting anything unless you really give it the accelerator pedal.

Quick note: the "Energy Flow" screen has a bit of lag, so the boost is instantaneous, but takes about a second or so to show up on the screen. But of course, you can really notice it.

Thanks @bytemaster0 . When did your vehicle show up in the Mercedes Me app? My dealer gave me my VIN when the production was completed and the vehicle had been shipped. The estimated delivery date to the dealer was December 1-4, but it still hasn't arrived. The dealer said it arrived at the local rail station about 30 miles away on the 1st, but it is waiting for a truck to bring it to the dealer. When I try to add the VIN to the app, it says "The VIN you've entered does not match what’s in our system". Even if the vehicle is in transport mode, I would think the system would recognize the VIN. We ordered our vehicle the first week of June and are excited for its arrival. Adding it to the app will make it feel like it is one step closer .

Never mind - I was trying on the web. When I tried on the mobile app, it recognized the VIN, but asked me to enter the code shown on the vehicle's touch screen. It looks like I won't be able to add the vehicle until I have it.

Yup, has to go through PDI before you can add it.
