"While the EQE is 3.5 inches shorter than the EQS"

That has to be way wrong. Should be more like 13.5 inches shorter

The tidier dimensions of the EQE definitely benefit the design more, that being said not much a fan of the "one-bow" theme. Interior looks great however, and surprised to see it shares many of the EQS' premium features such as the Hyperscreen, Rear Steer up to 10 degrees, etc. Curious if a 450 model will be introduced between what will be an upcoming AMG 53.

3.5 is in reference to the wheelbase. The EQE is overall 196 inches long compared to the EQS' 207 inch length.

I'd call the EQE the EQS "for the rest of us," but I'm pretty sure the pricing still puts it well out of reach of most car buyers!

But it does tick many of the right checkboxes: it's smaller but still has a long (claimed) range, solid performance, and creature comforts if you're willing to spend. Mercedes was also wise to make the Hyperscreen optional to keep the price down. I'd love to have one for a long road trip.

I don't know about you guys but the EQE looks better than the non-AMG EQS imo, and although less trunk space (because of the traditional trunk in the EQE vs the fastback in the EQS), you get more headroom in the rear. Since the hyperscreen is 8500 euros, curious how much it will be when it reach North America.

Agree, the EQE wears this design better than the EQS. I am hoping the price won't be too bad, I imagine that despite being a 350, it will possibly be priced more like an E450, but this could be a good buy as it features a ton of features available on the EQS.

This place is a joke.
Unfortunately it appears MB is sticking with "every model looks alike."

I think we don't need the hyperscreen, just a regular one would be fine. I guess, the starting price is $65K which is a lot of money.

Don't worry, the hyperscreen is optional at least, the standard is the W223 and W206 style screen in the middle and one on the driver side.

Yes, I see the picture. I think it looks good with the standard setup. I just hope for affordable price. ( ~ $60K )

I must wait for the AWD model because of climate in my area. I hope the larger battery pack will be available for maximum range. Charging stations are not plentiful in Canada at this time. I prefer this car to the EQS.. Supposedly same size as my current CLS. I certainly would not want the 11 in longer EQS class. From what I have read, , price will compare with the Tesla model S with similar options.

Oh by the way, does anybody know if MB uses the solid state battery for the EQS/EQE ?

With that price ( $80K for the Tesla Model S), it will be too expensive. I'm looking for something comparable to the Tesla M3.

If the existing charging network is licensed to MB and other car manufacturers, then the adaptation will be quicker.

Given it's size (too big) and what they are going to want for it ($80K+) I would rather have a Taycan. At least it is dead good looking.

They did partner with a company as written in the press release:
https://www.daimler.com/innovation/d...ro-quebec.html
An article states that MB used NCM811 technology in the EQS, further research states that this is a type of solid state battery (although I think I read it wrong):

Tesla Model 3 compares to a C-Class, not E-Class.

Oh, yes, I'm aware of it. If the price of the gasoline E class starting at $60K, then the EQE should start at $65K. I could get one. But if it starts at $80K, then I have to say Bye Bye.

I’m guessing I shouldn’t hold my breath that an EQanything coupe is on the horizon?

Thanks for sharing, interesting they have the MB star designs covering the area where parts of the hyperscreen will otherwise be.
