EQE SUV Spotting
This is a very late pre-production example but loaded up with just about every option that will be available on the EQE SUV. As seen, this should put to rest the Hyper Screen talk at least for the initial model year.
It'll be here for about another day to answer questions for those inquiring minds.

I'm curious, what's the serial number on this "late" pre pro car? Do you have the build sheet for it?
I think the proportions look better then the EQS SUV

Stay away if you're superstitious, it's number 666. Unfortunately no build sheet came with this one and Netstar does not pull anything for the VIN.

Makes sense re: no build sheet. And thanks for the s/n! It's amazing to me, MB used to buld 3000+ pre pro cars, but I don't think they made more then 400 for the EQS SUV and more then 800 or so for the Sedan, and now this fits around that number too!

Would it please be possible to measure the footprint (length and width) of the cargo area with the rear seats in the normal upright position? Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much! Interesting how that differs so much with the seats up from a GLE SUV, to a greater degree than one would think from exterior proportion differences. The floor height, perhaps?

For reference: 2022 GLE = 33.3 cu ft with seats up, 74 cu ft with seats flat. That is alot of space, and it was what I was hoping for with an EQE, but is only to be found in an EQS SUV.

MB published storage numbers for the EQE SUV are 20.5 ft³ and 59 ft³. That is quite meager. The EQB SUV has more storage space - 22 ft³ and 62 ft³ but the interior is quite spartan with plastic components including the seats except for black.

This is a concern of mine. I am on the list for EQE SUV but cargo space may be a deal killer.

I'll be measuring my current vehicle cargo space dimensions this evening and then I can make a better decision. I agree EQS is too big. I was hoping for GLE sized but after the release of the vehicle, seeing the numbers, and now seeing the hard measurements I am on the fence. Interior space is sufficient, but I have a toddler with plans for another child in future. I need cargo space to hold things like stroller, a wagon, luggage on trips etc.

On another matter, @CincyMBGuy, how does the EQE SUV build look to you? Body panels fit well? Trim aligned well? Other? I'm hoping the plant's experience building EQS will translate to an even better start for EQE. Thanks!

The build on this one looks like what you would expect MB to offer from a production vehicle. The rep mentioned issues on his EQS SUV but it was an extremely early pre-production car. Even only being the 666th off the line it looks up to snuff.

Cargo: 36 cubic feet rear seat up/78 cubic feet seat folded.

That is quite disappointing if the range is only 230 miles at full charge. It would be tough to compete with an ix. Having said that, the weather may have had a role to play on the estimated range

That is a 500 model, probably with the largest diameter wheels. We need to check a 350+ with the 19" wheels.

Even the 500 is rated at 402bhp which is lower than the ix. The 350s, at 288bhp, I dont see in the same performance bracket as the ix. I think the IX with the 22s gets a 305 miles range. I really am hoping the range is close to 300 miles.

This is the interesting challenge for OEMs producing EVs. The market's needs are so diverse. This will be our "family" car...shopping, out to dinner, to the airport, etc., for two or four adults. Some days, nowhere at all. No long trips and it will live in a garage with a wall charger. I probably don't need more than 100 miles of range at most before it would be back home overnight and that would be quite rare. With even 200 miles of range, realistically, I'd charge it once every week or two. It doesn't need particularly high performance either for its mission. I do want high levels of comfort and luxury and must have Hyperscreen due to my height to see the gauges. I'd personally have a hard time, however, seeing the iX in my garage based on the design, but it's not impossible if Hyperscreen doesn't appear for EQE SUV in the U.S. this year. If the Polestar 3 or Genesis GV70 EV were larger, they would be more serious competition. They are just too small for rear seat (Genesis) or cargo space (Polestar).

The iX uses an even larger battery than the EQS which was at it's release the largest offered in a standard production vehicle.
EQE (Sedan and SUV) 90.6 kWh
EQS (Sedan and SUV) 107.8 kWh
BMW iX uses a massive 111.5 kWh
