Creaks and rattles everywhere.

Does it happen to everyone else's EQE too? Especially in jotter weather the plastic in the air vents and overhead console creaks so bad. Just make such as expensive car feel so cheap.

Sedan or SUV? On my sedan, I have a teeny tiny rattle in the right-most air vent. It's the only thing that makes noise though, and I suspect it's a simple fix, I just haven't gotten around to having it addressed yet. I'd definitely talk to the dealer though, most of them can do a good job isolating and taking care of such noises. My dealer is waiting for me to bring it in to take care of the air vent issue.

Yeah, the plastic is creaky and it's also off gassing in this hot weather and smells. I'm hoping both issues improve some as the plastic ages. I also have a nasty rattle in the headliner in the back of the vehicle that took me forever to track down. Only hear it going over rough surfaces like the train tracks near my house so am just trying to ignore it. I'm thinking maybe some foam material can be shoved through the rear speaker holes to resolve the issue without having to remove the entire headliner but I really don't want to deal with it right now.

Haven't watched the video, but if it's about interior quality changes, I can certainly agree. The industry's movement toward hard plastics even on premium cars as a cost cutting move is worrying and doesn't feel good. My 28-year-old MB E300D rolling restoration project, despite a very rumbly diesel engine, doesn't have a rattle or squeak anywhere. The soft-touch materials were premium, even for the time, and the fit and finish was just unarguably perfect. The trend of great interiors ebbed and flowed over the following decades. My W212 E-class also had great fit and finish. Soft-touch materials everywhere, even in places you'd normally never touch and feel. But you knew it was there if your hand or knee ever went anywhere near it. The following generation, W213, dispensed with many of the soft-touch components, reserving them for high-touch areas. Felt much cheaper. It surely saved them cost and weight, but it was not as nice. The overall interior quality felt top-notch, but the touchpoints didn't feel as great. Unfortunately, while the EQE has an incredible interior and cabin, one I legitimately like spending time in, the materials quality feels even worse than before. In general, it's solid enough, but it *could* have been better. They have the expertise, the history, and the craftsmanship. I'm sure weight savings is very important given the extreme battery weight, but it does definitely make me wonder if they could have done differently. I love the interior, it's really amazing, but the touchpoints just aren't what they could be.

You can skip ahead to 11:30 if the video is too long for you. Basically they're echoing what all the trolls have said here: drives great but the interior feels CHEAP. Also, despite what the MB fan bois have been claiming, other cars in this price range don't feel cheap. My new $110K Jaguar has lots of plastic too but it doesn't creak like a Hyundai.

The creak in the rear top headliner is a known issues. My sedan had it there is a TSB for fix. It’s the communication attention ground loop foam detaching and scraping roof.

Does anyone on this forum have an FSM that details the structure and/or removal of the dash trim? Spoke with my dealer's shop foreman at length about removing it to address a very, very quiet rattle, but the issue remains that you go in to fix one, and you come back with two. They were more than willing to dive in, but I remember what fighting rattles is like. I might see if I can insert a very fine strip of material between the aluminum trim surrounding and the wooden trim panel. But it would be helpful to have an FSM diagram of it first!

I will say this though, after leaving my garage princess EQE SUV out in the 100+F sun for about a month, the smell that was bugging me is now gone (all I smell is leather now) and the plastic magically became MUCH MUCH less creaky. So if this is a problem for you try cooking the plastic a bit and see if that helps.

@Crito How do I do that as outside temperate is now 7C and not getting any warmer till next April

Thankfully no unpleasant smell, creaks, or rattles here, but will see if winter causes any shrinking.

Could be that your was built and shipped when it was hot outside though. Mine might have been built and shipped when it was cold so the plastic never got warm enough to off-gas and stiffen up. That would explain why some people are so upset about it and why some people don't seem to be bothered about it at all.

My dashboard (don't have the hyper glass) squeaks like crazy on the passenger side. Also when I press on it gently is makes this annoying plasticky sound. I seriously sounds like it's built with lego pieces or something.
