You have a very old version of MBUX. Actually, MBUX 2.4 (E330.602) was distributed OTA by Mercedes as a major update, that was over a year ago: MBUX 2.4 OTA
I am running RL_NTG7_E504.304_24133AC3 since yesterday.

MBUX can’t update the infotainment via OTA requires dealer visits
only comms, camera, suspension, drivetrain , maps, wireless charger, seats, lights and HVAC can be updated OTA

There is a credible report on another site that a Swedish owner received an MBUX 2.4 via OTA, so it seems possible. I suspect for North America it has to be done at a dealer.

I got the 2.4 update via OTA back in April in the US.
well, I paid the dealer a visit and left my car for a week (I was travelling)... they confirmed an update to MBUX was available, as well as a 2 recall campaigns
I picked up the car and now the software version is
RL_NTG7_E504.304_24133AC3 , I was running RL_NTG7_E316.505_22092AC3
I wish it came with release note for a full list of changes. I picked up on some small new features but still no sign of projections

Hey OP my EQE sedan is E504 in US, I do have custom digital light projection via Mercedes me connect
Light settings -> Digital lights menu on Mercedes me connect - 23 EQE Sedan with digital lights
