I like the EQS SUV but can't believe that the car is supposed to clock in at 7716lbs? That's up to 2000lbs heavier than the EQS. I haven't followed some of the threads but has this been discussed?

Not sure where they got their numbers from. While there is no official number from MB, most websites are stating estimated weight should be around ~6200lbs for the SUV.

This is what I would expect. I think they got the weight from jesmb.de which was the max. allowable gross weight.
May I offer this method of analyzing EQS pricing from MB's German website. The caveat is that this is without a spec-for-spec comparison across the trims. This rationalizes the SUV body-style premium across the first 2 trims. Perhaps the 580 SUV is decontented in some way.

Here is the pricing from MB's French website. Same caveats apply regarding possible spec differences between sedan and SUV. Interesting to see in both examples that the 580 SUV is priced less than the sedan. Could that hold for US-market...?

I have been thinking about getting this car to replace my other car. After following this sub-form for a while there is barely any activity about this car, and the fact that there are so many limitations on options kind of puts me off. If I wanted a 7 seater I can’t get tow hitch? And the wheel choice for 7 seaters is pretty limited. If I was to spend 130k+ ordering the 580 I want the build to be exactly how I want it. If things will improve in the next few months I might as well just wait for more options availability before jumping in.

This car is going to be very difficult to buy. My guess is it will quickly end up with a 2 year waitlist. Many dealers are already there.

I am not in a hurry to get into one. When I asked my dealer 2 weeks ago my trusty SA just said they have a few builds available in the coming months that will lock soon and asked me to go in to config one, which is why I started studying the order guide just to find out all the current limitations. I will just wait it out maybe until the AMG model comes out, but I really want the tow hitch with the 7 seats and hope that it will be available eventually.
