2022 Mercedes EQS 580
Funny you should mention the GLE. We had a fully loaded 2020 GLE 450 on order at the launch of the new redesign but after six months of delays and still no ETA, we decided to buy the X7. I really wanted that GLE with all the bells and whistles but it wasn't to be. I'll order an iX when my name comes in the pecking order but I'm really most interested in the EQS SUV. My wife will most likely want the Benz but the X7 surprised us both, it's been a very reliable SUV so the iX deserves a look. Even if we buy the iX and then fall in love with the EQS SUV later, my guess is we wouldn't lose much if any money as the iX will be in demand and people will be willing to over-pay to get one.
My wife would also prefer a Mercedes SUV but the EQE size. I'm going to pitch her that she has never owned a BMW and she should give it a try, and then we will get her into the Benz once that is out.

Totally agree. In the current car market there is no regret in buying an EV, because you can always sell it and get out whole,

I saw the photos of the EQE SUV a few weeks back, it looks very promising as well. Hopefully MB will unveil the EQS SUV in a few months and get a preorder up and running soon after.

I look for news on the EQS SUV everyday and @js_cls still beats me to the punch. Thanks so much. I expect MB will unwrap the the EQS SUV very soon so we at least know what it will look like. I have my doubts it will go on sale in the US this year.

The overall GLS shape is still reasonably similar, with a marked lowering of the rear roof. The wheels on that prototype are tiny, so I’m sure it will look better when you get properly sized tires in production. Oh how I wish they would use amber turn signals in the US. So irresponsible of them to use red rear turn signals here.

The biggest question will be whether the EQS SUV will have third row seating. If they can fit them in the EQB I think it should possibly work in the EQS as well. Even if its legroom/cargo capacity is smaller than the GLS, I think this would be a huge win for MB as there is really no 7-Seater EV's besides the Model X and Rivian R1S which hasn't been delivered yet.
