EQS SUV news and rumors

2022 Mercedes EQS 580
I had a chance to see the car too today. It is for sure smaller than the GLS. Interior seems like GLE with a larger trunk. The GLE also offers an optional third row these days.
That said I find the car looks 100% like an SUV. Doesn’t look van like at all to me. The front end is pretty upright. The hood slope is subtle. From the drivers seat you get a fair sense of where the corners of the car are.
I do wonder what they will do with the EQE if the EQS is almost same size as a GLE. I’m guessing EQE will be similar with no third row and a smaller trunk.

I think it is deceiving because of the aerodynamic shape compared to a x166/x167 GLS. Because the GLS x166/x167 is more "boxy" there is much more cargo volume and this makes the EQS seem more like a GLE size.

I can't wait to take our $141,000 luxury SUV EV off-roading. 
I know some owners do this for real but I would not used this car for off-roading, unless I had no other choice. I guess I'm getting too old.

I find it hilarious how many manufacturers on press trips have a whole off-roading portion of the trip, for cars like GLC's, X3's, X5's and GLE's, as if there is even a single percentage of buyers doing more off-roading other than driving on grass at the park. On a G-Wagon or Range Rover, I get it, but there is pretty much zero reason to even entertain the idea of its off-road capabilities for reviews in my opinion.

There are large groups of folks that go off-roading frequently. Florida has some great off-roading parks & trails that my daughter goes to twice a month driving a Ford Bronco Everglades. The parks are always busy even on weekdays. Cladding is necessary and a winch is very handy to correct one's mistakes. Personally I go to the beach often. That requires a 4Matic unless you don't mind being towed out of the soft sand.

I read somewhere on the forum that the embargo on driving reviews would be lifted today but I see no driving reviews on YouTube. Has anyone heard a definitive date when the embargo will be lifted?
