- Added changes for MY23.5 to What's New section*. Please note, MY23.5 changes take place for vehicles with 2D December production or later, and changes can be made in Netstar starting 11/1.
- Some EQS SUVs were built without the Mercedes-Benz Star Pattern Grille due to a supplier constraint, and are equipped with credit code D9Q. Without the Star Pattern Grille, the front grille is in high gloss black without the small embedded star pattern.
- Tech Specs added: MPGe, kWh/100mi, Curb Weights, Ground Clearance, Off-Road Info, Additional Exterior Dimensions, Vehicle Length, Battery Capacity
- Note about changes:
- Changes take place for cars with 2D December production dates or later.
- Dealers can edit orders with 2D December or later production to reflect MY23.5 changes on November 1st.
- MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey (956) paint becomes orderable
- Executive Rear Seat Package (DB5), part of Pinnacle Trim (DY2), now requires MBUX Interior Assist Rear (78B) and Adaptive Rear Compartment Lighting (236)
- AMG Line Exterior (DG1) becomes orderable on EQS 450+ SUV
- 20" Five-Spoke Aero Wheels w/ Black Claddings (29R) becomes orderable

We've drained the battery down to 28% and charged it back to 80% in 11 hours and added 180 miles of range. It takes us three days of driving to go from 80% to less than 30% state of charge so we don't recharge it every night. We usually recharge every 3 days. In fact, it would be better to lower the rate of charge to less than 9.6 kW if your normal usage would allow it and would promote better battery health. Even a 6 kW or 8 kW rate could work for many owners.
I was very disappointed to learn that my new (on order) $150k car will charge slower (I home charge only) than my $60k Volvo or my 5 1/2 year old Tesla.

I think the reason for Merc to keep it at 40a vs 48a in the US is safety. Most people use a nema 14-50 or 6-50 plug and this is rated for 50a non-continuous and 40a continuous current like an EV pulls at night. So if they had allowed the cars to charge at 48a and some one plugs in a Chargepoint home charger to a nema 14-50 plug and incorrectly configures it to 48a charging during setup then you have created a fire risk.
The reason I am researching this is because my brother in law has a Taycan and a friend of his (also with a Taycan) had his nema 14-50 socket actually melt. Porsche has recently done a recall/software update I believe to reduce the max capability of their mobile charger to under 40a for this reason.
I have another friend that had an electrician (maybe not properly licensed) come and install a nema 14-50 plug with a 60amp breaker so he can charge his Ford mach-e at 48amp using their charger from Ford with the plugin cord. I just told him that this is really a fire risk and that he should have it hardwired and ensure the wiring used is the proper #6 gauge.
this is a real fire safety concern and since MB can not guarantee people wire their chargers properly, I think they've done the next best thing and limited the charging to 40a which is the safest. No other explanation on why they would not support 48a or 50a charging like most other newer EVs
My guess is abhansali's friend, who's receptacle melted, was due to using a cheap version (I see many on Amazon for $10). The industrial versions are made to handle a continuous sustained draw of 40amps. Upon having my cheap receptacle replaced with an industrial version, I was able to compare the two. The difference was very noticeable.
