I was able to lay eyes on an early sample EQS SUV today before a factory rep was able to pick it up.
Personally, I think it is very attractive in person and just like the Sedan, does not photograph well. The size is much closer to a GLE than the GLS and with a much lower ride height.

I wasn't able to hunt down the keys but also didn't try too hard. I'll get the chance at some point to open it up. From the front seat they layout is essentially the same as an EQS 580.

I see : ) just wondering if there EQS SUV specific trim options (if your training vehicle is equipped)
@CincyMBGuy I was checking on the status of my order with my local dealer, and he said it shows it is in production, but with the status labels have changes so he cannot decipher what stage of production it is in - whether it is waiting to be produced or being produced. Seems odd since my car had a mid October production decade when I ordered it.
Thanks for sharing these photos BTW. Very exciting. Was surprised that you say size is closer to GLE. Is that true just based on height or also based on length? Good news if it feels more GLE like since my wife likes her GLE.
GLS is essentially a stretched GLE with a higher height and same width.

I heard the same story from a local dealer, "Not big as I expected". Compared to GLS, EQS SUV length is shorter by ~3.2 inches and height is by ~4.5 inches. It sits nicely between GLE and GLS.
Hoping EQS SUV's longer wheelbase and with 10 degree rear axle steering, it's going to have much driving dynamics than GLS.

I hate the new Netstar update, the codes are so cryptic instead of being right to the point. I would take anything it says with a grain of salt. I had one car show that it was at port and two days later show it was still being produced.
When we were shuffling things around to get it to the charger it was briefly between a GLE and GLS. It is just a bit longer than the GLE but much closer to it's size than the GLS. The EQS sits lower than both giving it the appearance (to me) of being a smaller vehicle. Unfortunately I won't have the opportunity to drive this one to see if that translates to road feel.
I of all people should have known those numbers. The perceived size is much, much smaller than I was expecting and even being side-by-side to a GLS I never would have guessed the measurements were that close.

Will this EQS SUV be used by the factory rep drive to other dealerships for training purposes? And do you know if customer demos will soon be available at the dealerships?
Here's a really comprehensive comparison of Exterior and Interior dimensions between the EQS SUV and its closest ICE competitors GLS and X7. Green means larger, red is smaller.
Great pics, I imagine the back seats will be much more comfortable here than in the sedan variant which I found too upright and the seat bottom too short.
What I don't understand is why the car doesn't have more interior space than the GLS with that wheelbase. It's not like there is a long hood to accommodate a V8.

That's good news if it looks smaller. Even more if it drives smaller.
To put that height into perspective - its about an inch taller than the Porsche Cayenne and BMW IX.
So while lower than the GLE and GLS, it's not that low. But for a car of this size, the height will definitely seem conspicuous and lend a sportier look.

I would think with the standard rear wheel steering it is going to feel smaller on the road than both the GLS and GLE but I can't speak from personal experience just yet.

Well put. I'm looking forward to seeing and sitting in an EQS SUV since a lower entry height is exactly what my wife and I are most interested in. The entry height of our X7 when at the normal middle height setting is just a bit high for comfort so we lower it after parking every time (a pain). We're hoping the normal height (not lowered) of the EQS SUV is just right for us.

Will you be driving this car before the rep takes it? Only seems fair since your juicing it up for him.

I was going to try and get my grubby hands on it but he drove straight in from New Jersey this morning and is twiddling his thumbs here waiting for it to finish it's PDI.

Offer him a free tank of gas if he lets you take it spin.

The roof of the car is 3.5" lower than an X7. So I would think that would mean the entry height is quite a bit lower too.
