580 standard trim. Acceleration on sport mode is insane for such a luxury cruiser. Will be going through what is coming in then decide if a custom vehicle will be ordered. I said to myself I wont buy a EV but after test driving this I can only say Tesla is in BIG TROUBLE.

Very nice 580 except for those wheels. Where is this dealership?

When I saw those wheels in person I quite liked them actually. I might have ordered mine with those if I had seen them.

The five star design looks fine, it’s the inserts that look odd. But I haven’t seen them in person, so maybe I would feel differently if I did. The pictures certainly don’t do them justice.

Have to ask but how do these seats feel? They don't look to have much thigh support. Only having sat in the back of a model x, I thought those were the most uncomfortable seats I had ever sat in. These kinda have a similar look. I think seats are the most important interface besides the steering wheels.

The seats are comfortable. I did not played with the seats too much as I am comparing it to my GLE450 which I think these seats are better. The head/neck pillow are somehow nice. I trashed it a little bit in a few intersection corners and it feels like a GLE on sport mode to be honest. The ride is VERY smooth (love those airmatics). One thing for certain is that if you have a GLS you will hate this vehicle as the space at the back is almost just as big as the current GLE and I am certain with the third row option the GLE with 3rd row will be more useful because of the headroom at the boot (rear hatch is more reclined like a coupe). Utility wise the petrol GLE and GLS will be much better than this vehicle.

I think 1-2 more generations of the EQS will bring it to the GLS proper size and nobody will be complaining on the third row. So if you have a GLE with third row or a GLS hold on too it until a proper sized 3 row EQS is made. I just need to remind myself about the +$40k battery replacement and the price of the airmatics if I decide to keep this for eternity.

The wheels look odd on pictures but in person they look OKAY. It is all above efficiency with these things. It will look cool to see a wide tire with true and tested AMG 5 spoke wheel design or the current 21" rotary rims found on the GLE/GLS but that will surely drop the range. The dealership is in Richmond, Canada.

OP, thanks for sharing pictures, I also saw in one of the GTA dealerships' while driving by. From purely the exterior design perspective I definitely see why people will be interested, it is a radical approach (just imo though). Those who like it will love it, those who dislike it will hate it.

OP, it got me curious, I remember coming across your other thread when browsing the forums: https://mbworld.org/forums/eqc-elect...ugly-duck.html

Other than the acceleration and comfort like you mentioned, what made you "U-turned" and decided from a vehicle that you actually hated to a vehicle that you are interested in? Maybe your answer will help assist those forum members of whom might want to buy but hate the vehicle at the same time? Thanks : )

It's an aero version of a 5 Star design. My sense is it would photograph better if they did the inserts in black instead of gray. A change which an easily be achieved aftermarket at your local MB dealer or elsewhere.

I agree. Those wheels make it look like something out of that Woody Allen movie "Sleeper"

Hi, I also went test drive a 580 SUV couple days ago. Did you experienced what I experienced? Going little fast with no regen and normal regen, I almost slam into the car in front of me twice on street because of the brake. In my area people drive 50~60 on rural roads. I didn't had such sensation (i wouldn't call it a problem, after all, heavy slam on the brake the car did stop) when I tested a 580 sedan. It almost feels like the brake pedal:
0-----------------------------100% depressed
from 0-75% there is almost nothing, maybe the car is too heavy. From 75-100%, the brake is super stiff that I have to brace my back against the seat and stomp heavy on my foot to get feel some stopping power going. And then there is cornering, body roll is very apparent in comfort, still "visible" in sport mode. The car had the 10 spoke 21" wheel and tire. I'm planning to get it for my wife, but don't think she can handle the brake ( I might just get it for myself lol).

When I tested the sedan, its more like 0-30% and 30-100%, also not as stiff. Anyone felt like this when you tested one?

The SUV's rear seat is extremely comfortable, although not much larger than a say GLE, it is nice and supportive, its what you'd expect from a mercedes. Hyperscreen is too high for my taste, feels trapped inside in driver's seat (outward field of view). Trunk is a little sad, I feel its smaller than GLE.
