Is this just cosmetic issue?
On my new 580, I see the passenger seat leather showing some strain.. I’m not an expert in original leather seats hence checking with you if this is a concern or purely cosmetic issue and I don’t need to go to dealership. That circled area is kind of not smooth like rest of the seat and concern is if it will rip and tear

Seriously? It looks like cracking to me. I would be disappointed if it were doing this in my brand new car. Maybe after 10 years, I would find such degradation acceptable...
I wonder if the leather is weakened because of the holes needed for seat ventilation.

If you are concerned take it to the dealership. Anything any of us say on this forum is not going to get you any results. It’s up to MB to make the decision.

I do not know as just a regular customer. That is why you need to deal direct with the dealership.

I'd say that is normal. MB-Tex is the only option if you don't want any creases. I used to think that MB leather was weak, but after trying leathers, especially from Korean (Hyundai/Genesis) or Japanese car (Lexus) companies.
German leathers are the best and the toughest.
My Lexus leather had wrinkles in about a year; the dealer said normal wear.
My Genesis leather had rips and cracks within three years.
I took great care of the leather too...
MB looks new for three to four years if you clean regularly.
If it bothers than ask the dealer but I'd live with it.

My Volvo S60, 21 years old now, has standard black leather in it. I have hardly done a thing in terms of special leather maintenance since year 1. While it has some wrinkles in it, there are absolutely no tears, rips or cracks.
Perhaps this has partly to do with the Scandinavian climate? Perhaps this has to do with the fact that there are no holes in the seats for ventilation?? I don't know. My (apparently very good) experience with my old car is what's making me question why such imperfections should be acceptable on a new Mercedes.
