EQS450 SUV
I am about to purchase a 2023 EQS450 SUV and a bit nerves of all these sudden breakings that I'm seeing on-line. Could someone tell me if I making a right decision and should I wait a few years for the technology to correct itself.
Thanks A bunch.

- If you need to replace an ICE vehicle now then the EQS would be nice as long as you can deal with potential issues.
- If you cannot deal with issues then hold onto your current vehicle for 2 more years, but you will be giving up on all the nice features. Reliability will only get better with time.
- An alternative could be a 2-year lease of a lightly used vehicle, timed with the purchase of a 2025 model with an NACS connector.
I think I can deal with issues. 9 weeks into ownership of my EQE and it has spent 3 weeks in the shop (loaner provided), and a pending visit for when a part arrives. Hoping this is the end though.
I would personally not worry about NACS connector that much. The adapter from NACS -> CCS is simple since underlying protocol is same and prototypes are already available actually from 3rd parties, so once Tesla opens up their network it should be simple to get one and start using NACS network.
So the decision would be to whether buy one with a discount likely or wait for 2024 models which may not have the said discount but have the heatpump. There is also a slight chance that price may drop given Tesla price drops but not sure if Mercedes would do that.

Does anybody know how to dim out the speedometer cluster lights on EQS450+ ? There is always a knob or something next to the light switch button but I don't see it in this car. I know how to dim out the ambient light .
Thank you in advance.
If the open/close cycle fails then a manual push on the tailgate does close it. The car will go back to the shop for this to be fixed if this becomes too annoying or at the next recall/service/problem.

A- Pressing the START button double times quickly confuses the computer, I get a red text message in the speedometer panel about something about battery and towing .... or key is not recognized ...
B- I get into the car, the center monitor went blue and blank, no Navi, no Charing icon, ... I had to get out of the car, lock it and then unlock it to reset everything.
Any comments?

If you apply the brake BEFORE pressing the Start button, the green READY indicator will appear obviating the need to press the Start button a second time.

Edit 15-Oct-2023: Path to brightness control on cockpit screen - Settings -> System -> Displays -> Display Brightness. You can adjust the brightness separately on the cockpit and central screens.

Audi was doing it a lot better, pretty much every setting was tied to the driver profile but you also had the option of saying don't remember seat ventilation etc.
