Radar detector install help
Does anyone know how or where to find information or video on how to install a radar detector in a 2023 EQS sedan please? Is it something that requires a 12v speciality shop or is it easy for DIY?
Thanks

I use the 12v cigarette lighter plug near the glove box. I understand that not all cars have the plug.

If you have a 12v socket under the glove box installation is very simple. if not you have to tap from fuse box from the rear. I've seen people tap into the 12V of the rear-view mirror.

Understood. The rear view mirror looks like the lost viable option for power source. Does the radar detector you installed turn on and off by itself when you turn the ignition on? Is it just mounted on the glass with suction cup it was supplied with?
I am looking at installing a escort 9500
Thank you!

Not necessarily. Doing 70 in a 55 probably is range enhancing. Doing 90 in a 70 would not be efficient.
Also not everyone buys an EV to make a climate statement. For a lot it is about having a better car while also being more environmentally friendly. I know for sure that my EQS580 is less polluting than my E63S even if I drive it at 100mph, and it's a better car too (for US road use).

BTW, the CEO of Hertz just resigned over losses resulting from the fleet of Teslas he acquired.

There's nothing climate friendly in my EQS. I'm just displacing my carbon footprint somewhere else; the electric provider can choose to go wind, solar, NG, nuclear, or coal. But regarding a radar detector, I have a V1 that mostly sits in the cabin in my office. I only use it when I go intercity or interstate. With multiple cars, there's no incentive to hardwire but a nice option if desired.

It would be very nice to have that type of integration. It's doable with current technologies, and I think you might have a good business idea. I'm thinking, a battery operated remote radar sensor, a standard communication framework between different brands, GPS and Bluetooth enabled, phone app, and you have a winning solution of a Waze type network, iphone/android, and good fighting changes against traffic radars.
