Mercedes EQS SUV outside exhaust sound subscriptions
I'm owner of European version of EQS 450 SUV and heard there is an options for USA users for outside exhaust sound similar to inside one. Is that true ? Can someone share more details ?

If you're talking about the "Sound Experiences" in the USA they're standard I believe and you have the option for inside sound, outside sound, or both.
The outside sound is not an exhaust sound and doesn't play while the car is on and ready to drive/while driving. It only plays while 1. the car is unlocked and waiting for you to get in and 2. after you shut off the car until you lock it.

I can't speak for the suv. On the sedan, there is a humming sound when the car is on and ready to drive. The sound comes from the external speakers and is not really an exhaust sound in the traditional sense. It is just a hum sound you hear similar to what you hear in a sci-fi movie on electrified machines.

I generally find EV sounds annoying myself but I have to admit there's something appealing about pulling up next to a muscle car at a light in an electric that produces more horsepower AND decibels. Your Hellcat Redeye is for girly men!

Yeah but Ioniq 5 N is trying to impress the guy inside the car with fake gear shifts and rev limiter sounds. I'd be more impressed if the sounds didn't actually make the car SLOWER. It's a kids toy in comparison.

Well, you can turn that off which won't make the car slower, the fake gear shifts are meant bog you down intentionally if you hit rev limiter. The fake sound is also available outside as well. Kid's toy is a good way to call it, a real life video game as most calls it.

I guess I'm just not the target audience for an electric G. I wanted buttons for three virtual diff lockers and maybe a way to air up/down the tires without getting out in the rain, not muscle car sounds.
In any case, I feel like I've hijacked this thread... just wanted to add my two cents about why dogs run away from the high-pitched UFO sounds my EQE makes.

It a waste of kilowatt energy to make exterior sound of an ICE exhaust. But if you must, give me a 10-15K rpm F1 high pitched, refined, ear piercing noise, and away I go.

In the days when you have multi-gears, aka tranny, driving a car with a muffled engine was difficult to determine your speed without looking down at the speedo. Who has time for that? Also, engine sound, over time, gives you a sense of how hard you are pushing the engine/car in straights and turns based on the gear you are in. Over time, engine sound becomes an adrenaline inducing element . . . . for mostly young folks to about ~50 years old. When you don't care for sound as much, you opt for visual queues. And example is rpm/power meter on the HUD/dashboard.
Digital sound for EV should mimic a whining coiling vibration noise. Sometimes we hear it as a whine or a humming sound. But the fact that the inverter, motor and gears making the audible noise means that it is actually not efficient because it is the vibrating parts and the moving parts that creates the related noise (electricity and electrical components have a high frequency we can't typically hear). In short, Hollywood does a good job of presenting electric power level with sound that we are all accustom to hearing. So if you want to associate EV power to some historical Hollywood made sound associations, I'm OK with that, too. However, leave an option to turn off the artificial sounds as desired.

At least we don't have to pay for the noise generators. Mercedes wants $1,250 for their shouty AMG "Performance" exhaust that adds zero added performance. And even then I think that the sounds inside are synthetic. Even so the American wife has it on all of the time.
