Looks cool, very CLS-ish, which of course I'm very partial too

I read somewhere the 'fans' on either side are to help cool the huge screen that gets very warm during operation. This pic looks crazy! I think I like it better too. Anyone else?

Also like the exterior render, although clearly that grille can't be right because you don't need that much air intake and it would compromise aerodynamic efficiency.

I just watched a long video of a guy who road tripped in a new Taycan 4s from Florida to New York. The charging stops on the way were a complete cluster. Porsche has an app that you are supposed to be able to use to get free charging for three years at electrify america stations. He never got it to work, so he had to fall back to his paid electrify america account. Even then, at every stop at least until I give up watching, the chargers didn't work correctly. The 350 kW chargers crashed when he plugged them in. He typically had to bounce around between different 150 kW chargers to get a charge, and even then he had lots of failures and lots of experiences with the chargers not going over 50 kW. Over and over and over and over again. it's funny because the guy is a total fanboy and he really wanted it to work, but you can so easily see that public charging infrastructure just isn't ready for prime time. By the middle of the video, he starts saying "well at least we aren't stranded". Yikes.
It was also pretty interesting to see his $140,000 porsche pulling in behind an absolute crap trailer into a Walmart parking lot, which is where the electrify America chargers are mostly located. At one point, he actually gets locked inside at Walmart after hours.
I really hope Mercedes USA is very very focused on the public charging experience. it seems that superchargers are going to be a major advantage for Tesla until someone else can get public EV charging infrastructure figured out...

That said, I think anyone who buys an EV for a cross country trip is nuts. Especially if they buy a non-Tesla. It's like deliberate self sabotage. And the Taycan has very little luggage space too. For a trip like that you want a GLE or GLS.

I think a solid integrated screen for the entire dash is definitely better that the hideous screen they tacked on the S and have been tacking on the entire line. The center console in this image looks like it's encased by two grab bars like the GLE has. Not sure why they did this.

Painful to look at these horrible photoshopped images...Hope that we soon have something real to look at. The Hyperscreen btw. will be an option in Europe. We'll have to see if it will be standard in the US.

As mentioned previously by so many others, these “battery operated” vehicles are one thing, but the lack of a substantial, convenient, easy to use, nationwide, recharging infrastructure is the huge deal here. WHEN will we hear of MBUSA’s plans for satiating this 600 pound gorilla in the room?

[/QUOTE Charging network isn't MBUSA's problem. The federal government and the CARB states have mandated that these cars exist. A charging network is their problem. California can't handle their electricity demands right now.

I’m sure you’re right, but if our idiot government officials are responsible for providing charging locations, I can’t imagine ever having a battery operated vehicle. Here in LaLa Land, we are watching as our Laurel & Hardy government is flushing billions down the toilet on a high speed railroad that will probably never run.

Most people who buy luxury cars use them around town, and take flights for long trips. Anything more than a two hour drive, I would take a plane. And so would most people I know who buy $100k plus cars. Further people who have cars at this price point have lots of cars, and usually will have an ICE car in the garage.
I don't think someone like you is the target customer. It's people like me. I personally couldn't care less if there is no charging infrastructure because I will only charge the car in my own garage.

The federal government's and Carb haven't mandated the existence of these cars. Consumer demand has. tesla's are continuing to sell like hot cakes and there is no federal tax credit on these cars any more. It is simply a superior experience to have a car which is silent, has amazing power delivery, and which you never have to waste time filling up at a petrol station.
