I'm really having a hard time coming to terms with this car. Every time I see more I can't decide whether I like it or dislike it more. Guess I'll have to wait for the reveal. Personally wish they went for a different look than the jellybean cab-forward squashed GLE coupe look it has.

Yes I have the same concern. I don't think it is going to be a looker, but it may be okay. It reminds me of the AMG GT63 which is an okay looking car, but not as stylish as it's competitors from other brands. In this case it will make up for the more basic looks with a far more spacious and luxurious interior than the Audi or Porsche. I think the interior will be amazing.

Jaguar just announced they will no longer by launching the 2022 Jaguar XJ.

Too bad. Stunning car. Looks almost production ready. Beautiful sleek shape. This is the kind of shape Mercedes should have gone with.

Also Mercedes announced today they won't sell the EQC in the US. That one is easy to decipher - it's simply not a competitive product. Won't compare favorably even with the Ford Mustang.

That's a shame, I love the outgoing XJ, even if it was controversial. Jaguar makes some beautiful looking and driving cars. And based on the latest I-Pace and F-Pace Facelift, the interiors were finally getting nice again. Damn this stupid SUV trend.

I yearn for the Jaguars of the 2009's and below I'd love to buy one, but they're kind of hard to find, one in good shape with low miles anyway.

I didn't think Jaguar had the financial resources to scrap a model so close to production.

Sounds like it would cost more to just sell the car.
Sounds like an electric car based on a conventional platform is now a non starter. To get the range and performance a luxury electric needs means a skateboard platform. Probably why the EQC was scrapped for the US.

I found one for you. Tempted to buy it myself. It's a real classic in mint condition.

You were looking pretty hard. I actually went on Autotrader because I was surprised by your assertion. It's amazing how few older Jags are on the road. I guess they depreciate so much that if anything happens, even mechanical stuff, it's a write-off. Low mileage older Porsches on the other hand are really easy to find!

Veering off topic a bit, but I used to own an XJ back in the 80s when the electrical system was Lucas. Had so many major (mysterious) electrical issues. They used to say “If Lucas made a vacuum cleaner it would be the only thing that didn’t suck!

Pcars seem to, again, be gaining in popularity! I don't completely understand why, but I have owned 2 so I understand the thrill of owning/driving one. If I had my way I'd go for an old XJS, not a V12 but maybe That or a XJ8 from the 90's or late aughts.

Okay I found another one for you

XJS V12, Under 3000 miles. Not BRG, but it's practically brand new.

Oh, how fun! Dreaming of driving relatively ancient vehicles, in today’s environment. Who needs multiple airbags, crumple zones, automatic braking and other, modern safety systems, when you can blissfully motor down country lanes, channeling Peter Egan??? Sorry, but I just won’t do it. In my world, 16 year old kids are being given the 20 year old family Suburbans and they drive them with utter abandon, roaring around neighborhood streets, blasting through stop signs in their three ton monsters, with worn everything, nearly bald tires, music blaring as they are texting their girlfriends—and boyfriends—am I even allowed to differentiate between the two, or have I committed an offense that will go viral? As I watch out for these idiots, I prefer doing it from the cockpit of my state-of-the-art, German built, “Panzer Wagen.” Am I allowed to say Panzer?

That's unreal! Wonder what the car is 'due' for besides everything haha! What a find though! If not for anything else, for art!

You make some excellent points, but I'm not a Grandpa yet Stream, and while I do want to live to be one, I still need to live MY life A Jaguar like this is on my bucket list now

Interior quality and space is far more important to me. I’ll take a luxurious roomy cabin any day over the cramped space in a Tesla S. Here’s hoping that MB delivers. Sleek and roomy may not go hand in hand for those who are looking for a “looker”.

Sitting in the Taycan felt kind of claustrophobic Very coupe-ish.
