2022 Mercedes EQS 580
The matte grey in the Carbuzz video looks awesome. Needs a night package though.
I think the diamond white is the best color scheme for this car though. Nonetheless I am going to stick with the matte grey.

Wonderful!
Thanks very much for the side-by-side 360 degree comparison.
Although my comparison will be my 450+ and our ‘18 S560, this enabled a highly helpful visual test.
It further demonstrates, at least to me, how far off base I find the niggling negative styling put-downs.
Once I have become accustomed to looking out the windshield, I am convinced I will not find anything to which I cannot easily adjust.

When has there ever been a design of anything that everyone always liked?

So true, I test drove an EQS 450+ and never once noticed or felt the dash was too high. Decide for yourself and ignore the negative chatter. If it works for you, that's all that matters.

But, my 450+ is Cardinal Red - commemorating our state bird and the color of the blood 🩸 shed by those honored by my Army service license plate.

the problem is it is loaded with technology from a legacy automaker.
I am really torn between the EQS and the Lucid.
we have a Taycan right now and previously had a Tesla(both S and 3). The quality of the Taycan is superb and it drives fantastically,it blows the Tesla out of the water.(Tesla interior and build quality is garbage)
however: the tech, ADAS, and infotainment are absolute trash in the Taycan. Like, I can barely even tell when using the nav where my next turn is. It is routinely exceptionally buggy. The ADAS is absolutely abysmal. Frequently disengages, loses the lines, ping pings in lanes, etc.
this is my major concern with EQS. When we test drove a new S class, the infotainment was laggy. I’m concerned the EQS will be the same and have terrible ADAS.
I don’t trust a legacy automaker to continue delivering quality software updates like I would Rivian, Tesla, and Lucid. For our first major software update on the Taycan we had to go to the dealer, which is just, you know, absurd for a software update when it is marketed as over the air. In the year and a half we have owned it we have only gotten one real update that added airplay wireless and that is it.
tesla, Lucid, and Rivian will nail the software and face challenges on build and quality. Mercedes will nail the interior and face challenges on software.

even Tesla which has some, however minimal, credence as a manufacturer takes mths to get body parts or any parts at all!

You are willing to plunk 150k on a company that has never made a car? No dealer network, no parts departments, and is owned by the Saudi wealth fund AKA, the funders of Bin Ladin. Good luck with that🤣🤣🤣🤣

But do you know a Saudi is the new FIA president?

I wonder if the EQS will hold its value better than the S Class which normally loses a lot of value in the first few years of ownership?
