This is completely incorrect. I have test driven the EQS twice, and I owned a W213 E-Class (the current generation). Back seat is much bigger in the EQS than the E Class.

I have an E43, the EQS is much wider and has a LOT more legroom. Headroom is similar. The rear of the E is better than a C Class in the back but not by much.

Not sure if this was shared here yet but I am posting it here incase someone is interested in this video on a "somewhat" different take/review of the EQS.

Some of the comments these dudes are making are idiotic. For example, they have not clue why it doesn't have the soft closing doors. I've watched many video reviews of the EQS580 and not one has stated that it doesn't drive with confidence. I think these guys are full of you know what for the most part.

There have been several that have said that the braking does not inspire confidence.

Okay, I'll give you that, but I think its just a matter of getting use to the brakes and how they work.

That... but at the same time, it also depends on how the drivers get used to the recuperation depending on if they set it to gliding, medium or strong on the EQS (can't remember the exact names for the options though)

For those who complained about braking confidence, it seems that the 53 model addressed it beautifully.

The eqs handles better than the S. That has been proven multiple times on the track. And noone has ever accused the S of anything but great handling... for its size. Yes its big and soft but it handles like a destroyer not an aircraft carrier. Furthermore Im sick of hearing the brake BS, given it brakes shorter than an s class too! In fact it is dynamically superior to the S class in every single criterion faster, better handling and better braking, Cant fool the numbers. Finally yes the rear is more cramped than an S class, so what? How many people carry NBA players in the rear seat on a regular basis? The average height for men is 70 inches and for women its 65. Anyone 6 ft or shorter has ample headroom. In the front, thats increased to 6'2".
Finally if you want to compare rear luxury, get a pinnacle model which has the fancier rear, DUH.

I think (just my opinion) they are complaining about the brakes in terms of the feel of it (so mainly the brake pedals and vehicle's overall response when the brake pedal is depressed and depending on the amount applied), not the actual performance of it as the performance itself is not bad like you said. That being said, it was all solved on the 53 model and I don't think anyone needs to complain anymore. All in all, brake feel is all personal preference to be honest (in my opinion).

Yes, it isn't fair to compare the luxury of a regular S-Class and the EQS without the Executive Rear Seating Package offered on the Executive Line for the S and Pinnacle trim for the EQS.

Here's a more realistic review of the features and test drive of the EQS 580. The actual driving starts at about the 26 minute point:

Here is an excellent review from someone that's knowledgeable. It's also much more current than the video I posted above.

At some point he mentions the EQS has no heat pump. Is that a mistake or are the US-market EQS cars differently equipped from those for Europe? I could understand this for California or Florida but there are areas and time of year that the heat pump would be needed in the US too.

This is an accurate summary of the complaints.

I'm not sure. There have been several posts on this forum about whether or not the EQS has a heat pump. Whatever the case, I'm not worried since I know Mercedes will make sure that the heating system works properly. I live in a cold winter climate.

Sharing a random video (posting in the EQS section because a huge chunk talked about the EQS's Hyperscreen and MBUX despite the thumbnail is a W223)
