I don't get why anyone feels the need to defend their choice of EV's. If you want an EQS, buy it. If you a Lucid Air, buy it. If you want a Tesla, buy it. Why care what anyone else thinks. It's your money, buy whatever makes you happy.

I agree. It’s my money and I’m at the stage of my life where I don’t care what other people think. People ask what do you think of this color? I say, it’s your car, what you think is what counts. Get what makes you happy, not what others think. I ordered the 580 in the Magno gray, first non white car of mine in quite a while. I got tired of diamond white S class, thought I’d try something new. It was my choice because I liked how it looked. But I have to say the pics of the red 450 look really nice, but I’m sticking to my Magno paint.

Good for you. I was also in a pattern of buying only white cars for a number of years. We owned 3 GLS's in a row that were all designo Diamond White. We traded our 2015 GLS 550 on a 2019 BMW X7 (our first BMW) that is Arctic Grey. It was a complete 180 from the string of white cars we owned. But I must say, I've grown to love this color and may not go back to white for a while longer.

As for the Magno Gray you ordered for your EQS, it looks great in the pics I've seen. The darker colors tend to better on the EQS IMHO.

In terms of overall length it's actually shorter than an EQE.

Taycan 195.4
Lucid 195.9
EQE 196.6
Tesla Model S 197.7
EQS (Bismarck Class EV) 207.3

Yes, I feel there is a little bit of lying going on here.

I have always looked at the Tesla as a midsized car. Apparently, the Lucid is one too. You really can't compare the Lucid or Tesla to the big body EQS

I wouldn't say Lucid is lying about the Air. It's more a matter of interior space and overall usage of space in the design. I do not know how each compares when focusing on interior space but of the videos I've watched of the Lucid Air the reviewers consistently comment on how roomy the front and rear spaces are. I've been in the EQS and it has plenty of room both front and back. The back seats in the 450+ I drove were fine but nothing great.

When I positioned the front seat for me in the EQS there was a ridiculous amount of legroom in the back.

The EQS is a bit shorter than the LWB 223 but the interior space, leg room specifically could be even better than that of a V223. MB gives interior dimensions but I don't think those are easy to compare. Anyone tried to compare the two?

thats interesting. It feels quite a bit bigger than the Taycan. Must have a good layout. Definitely feels smaller than a EQS.

No doubt it is more spacious inside than the Taycan. I found the Taycan to feel claustrophobic when I sat in it in the dealership but that passed after I drove it. The most interesting thing was when I got back in my 11 yo E-Class expecting to feel like a bucket of bolts and thinking like I have always thought after driving a Porsche and getting back in my Mercedes "I sure wouldn't pay the difference to own one."

EQS interior is about 20% smaller than 223. Both front and back. Back seat space about same as E class.

Would like to the see the stats on that. From my sitting in the back of the EQS the other day there is no way a E class has that much leg room. Very S Class like, which to me is not a good trade as I prefer shorter cars.

That is why the EQE exists and in the future a new EQC.

And what about the Lucid trunk? Also, larger exterior dimensions in a sedan, give off more of an executive presence on the road. The Lucid was clearly sized as a Model S alternative. EQS is in another class.

I never complained about long cars. I’m simply responding to MBNUT who said he doesn’t like long vehicles that there will be a shorter EQE soon and in the future a new EQC.

The EQE looks better proportioned than the EQS IMO. However those better proportion come with a fundamental compromise which is personally unacceptable, shorter range! I live in an area of the country that has essentially no EV infrastructure, home charging is virtually it. Luckily I have another home 250 miles away I can home charge in thus I can drive around my northern tier fairly care free despite the virtual absence of DC fast chargers.

Right. Which is why I went to look at the EQS to see how the base drivers instrument cluster looked which was better than I expected based on the W223.

EQC will be in SUV form only correct?
