I think they sell the 580s as soon as they arrive, 450s are slower. Today 54 580s for 462 450s on cars.com

26 EQS 400 SUV, 23 EQS 580 SUV (sold), 19 X7 (sold), 17/14 GLS550 (sold), 13 GL550 (sold)
I'm revisiting this thread because my local MB dealer finally received an EQS 580 for inventory. I saw it in the showroom over the weekend and texted my SA to ask if it was available. He texted that it was but there was a premium over MSRP. I ask how much and he said he would get back to me on Monday. Today he called and informed the premium is $50k. I laughed out loud and ask if he was serious, he was. I told him that is insane for our area but he feels they will get it. This got to me thinking about a pre-order I have on a BMW iX 50. Would I be facing the same kind of ridiculous markup when it arrives this summer? So I called my BMW SA and ask if they would impose a premium on the iX when it arrives like their counterparts a block away (the same ownership). He assured me they would not be doing that and that I can expect to deal as I always have. He was aware of the MB dealership charging those outlandish premiums and said he thought that would come back to hurt them later when those customers are stuck with a car that isn't worth near what they paid for it. I get that dealerships are struggling for inventory and have overhead but a $50k premium for a $128k car is obscene IMO.

I think what is going on right now is that dealers are adopting one of three policies:
1) ADM on all sales both pre-order and inventory
2) ADM only on inventory, but pre-orders at MSRP
3) No ADM or minimal ADM

Most dealers I have spoken with are in camps 1 or 2. Atlanta dealers typically are 2, but they also refuse to take pre-orders on some cars. For instance you can't order a G-wagon because they want an ADM on it. If anyone knows a dealer who will take a deposit at MSRP for a waiting list on the EQG let me know. My wife really wants that car. But we aren't going to pay ADM for it.

The MB SA did say he may have an available allocation for an EQS 580 to be built by June or July and that he could sell it closer to MSRP. I told him that unless he could put it writing that the car would be sold to me at or less than MSRP, I wouldn't be interested. He didn't offer to put it in writing so I said pass. Dealers engaging in price gouging will lose some loyal customers, like me. Thank goodness our BMW dealer isn't gouging their customers.

Bobby Rahal, Pittsburgh, does not sell cars over MSRP. The dealership will state this from the beginning and they stand by that.

so if ya'll can be patient, you will be able to get a 580 at MSRP or below. When the SUV version comes out everyone will be after it. That will reduce demand significantly. Next when the chip shortage corrects itself in the next 24 months, they can increase production. And finally when the market crashes and these paper rich stock traders lose most of their wealth, prices on all luxury goods will fall.

My dealership and one other that I'm aware of in the area is MSRP on them. I'd be surprised to find a Kia Rio at MSRP out west, some that I've seen are ridiculous.
