Steering Wheel Pop up
I have the steering wheel set just to where I like it in my 580.
In fact it's very close to what the auto position setting that the car does based on driver's height input.
But every so often a popup appears on the drivers screen that says "adjust the steering wheel until 6 dots are visible".
What the heck is it trying to tell me and where are those 6 dots?
The screen seems unchanged without 6 dots anywhere that I can see!

Your assumption of it being the monitor (little red lights that can't be seen shining on your eyes) seems very reasonable. If the warning is not constantly, it probably means that the system has lost track for some reason or another. As you pointed out, its like the coffee cup, a useless security reminder.
