Steering Wheel Pop up

I have the steering wheel set just to where I like it in my 580.
In fact it's very close to what the auto position setting that the car does based on driver's height input.
But every so often a popup appears on the drivers screen that says "adjust the steering wheel until 6 dots are visible".
What the heck is it trying to tell me and where are those 6 dots?
The screen seems unchanged without 6 dots anywhere that I can see!

i get that message too and also don’t understand it. My guess is it has something to do with the driver monitoring system. The unhelpful thing that tells you when you need a coffee break

I also randomly get the same message. Not clear what triggers the message.

Your assumption of it being the monitor (little red lights that can't be seen shining on your eyes) seems very reasonable. If the warning is not constantly, it probably means that the system has lost track for some reason or another. As you pointed out, its like the coffee cup, a useless security reminder.

Its the driver monitor. I didn't realize they were including it in cars without the 3D gauge cluster.

Thats how you can move the side mirrors by just looking at them.

Ah, didn’t know that, I assumed it was through the interior assistant but that makes more sense.

OK. Once again, I'm way behind the knowledge curve of this forum. Can you enlighten me about this?

In the S-Class (I assume EQS also has this?) just looking at a particular mirror will automatically select that mirror when you change its angle using the directional pad on the door.

Thanks so much, will try this. Wish, in traffic, I had a minigun which would aim where I'm looking....... Just sayin'

Mine too. I figured it happens when I hold the wheel at the top - the hand / arm comes between the sensors and my face
