Oh, there were no changes made exactly on that date, but there have been a lot of changes between my last post and 1/18.
If the date at the bottom right corner says 1/18, you downloaded the right copy.

Mercedes-Benz is expanding the EQS model to include the rear seat package (PAS), a 5G communication module (382), and a heat pump (583). Further standard equipment is now the active Distance Assist DISTRONIC (code 5B0, 207). The EQS 53 4MATIC+ model also has the 22 kW AC charging function (Code 84B) and a charging cable for a 5 m straight wall box (Code 9B6). The 4WD Disconnect Unit (DCU) in the EQS is also new.

Mercedes-Benz is now offering three new MANUFAKTUR paint finishes for the EQS: opalith white metallic, patagonia red metallic and opalith white magno. The MANUFAKTUR emblem badge (only with upholstery 821, 811, 801, 221, 211 and 201) is now available in the interior. The open-pored Norway maple ship's deck wood trim element replaces the open-pored ship's deck walnut wood trim element (H39). The center console is now also available in seat maple ship's deck wood (689). The 3D driver's display is now only available in conjunction with the display package (PAI). A new vehicle socket flap is electric (code U49). The Sound Experience Serene Breeze is also new.

In return, the MANUFAKTUR diamond white bright and hyacinth red metallic paintwork, the walnut wood trim (H39) and the communication module in LTE technology are no longer available. Multifunction telephony is also no longer available. There are also changes to some MANUFAKTUR paint finishes, most of which are becoming cheaper. The basic prices of the rear seat package Plus (code PAT) and the ENERGIZING rear package have also been changed.

Those sound like some nice changes - the 3D guages on non Hyperscreen cars could mean expanded availability of the AR HUD. The expanded drivers assist features ala EQE SUV, plus disconnecting front motor and heat pump are expected. I'm curious to see what the other (pricing) changes are.

Unfair?
580 users should be laughing. They did NOT software cripple the 580! They already have the max power and max acceleration from the battery/motor combination.

This type of acceleration increase is only possible because the 450 was software crippled in the first place.
On the contrary, 450 users should be the ones screaming UNFAIR!

Im pretty sure they did. I really don't think the drivetrain of the AMG is that different. I've run the times on my 580, and its about half a second slower (3.7 sec over and over) than the AMG on race start and only about 4 miles slower at the quarter. You can chalk all that up entirely to a simple few seconds of overboost function. I find it hard to believe that the 580 hardware can't handle that.
Regardless 600 bucks to unleash the full potential of the 450 is a bargain and makes that car significantly more desirable, particularly the 450 AWD!
I would gladly spendvtice as much to turn my 580 into an AMG!

I would disagree.
It is not a "bargain" when they on purpose software limit the power, and ask you extra money to "unlock" it.
They have made the 450 (and the EQE 350) uncompetitive with other cars in the same class.
You bought the hardware, and you should be entitled to the full potential of the hardware in the first place!

It's like you bought a laptop with 16GB RAM, but you can only use 8GB.
The laptop manufacturer asked you to pay $$$ to let you use the other 8GB RAM - and you would call that a bargain?

AMG is quite different. Apart from the motor (which I am not sure if it is the same), the suspension, brakes etc are upgraded. The steering wheel has extra control, Dynamic Select have extra modes.
The trims and wheels are different. So you can never "software upgrade" into an AMG version.
