Anyone that states with a straight face that the I7 is better looking than the EQS is in a very bad LSD trip. That thing is hideous. It has less range and is slower. The interior is a hodgepodge of bling and uninspiring design. Only the most diehard BMW fanboy will say that that monstrosity holds a candle to the EQS in any way. It looks like Herman Munster's new hearse. Revolting.

Fully loaded 580 and I7, pricing is very close. On paper with executive rear lounge seat, big screen TV and B&W sound system, I7 seems to be more value for the money.

It better be cheap given that its uglier than sin and its outperformed in all EV parameters by the EQS. One thing I hope is that at least it has more rear headroom than the EQS given the more regular sedan roofline it has.

I will say I don’t think either the EQS or i7 is particularly strong in the looks department, and I appreciate both brands and their being on the forge front of technology, innovation, and driving competence. That being said, I can’t help but think some of the i7’s features and tech feels either half naked, useless, not for me, or pillaged from and behind MB. The hardware for IDrive 8 looks like the last gen screen setup for MBs, but worse. I don’t wish BMW was up to speed with the latest MB design, I just wish they had their OWN thing. Recent MB feels like a solid and cohesive, if polarizing, brand image to me, while BMW seems lost and still figuring itself out.

I also find the big rear screen silly and not something I’m at all interested In. Disappointing for me given that that’s basically the highlight. That would be like if I absolutely hated the idea of E-ABC or MBUX - the GLE and GLS would be off to a bad start in my mind and I’d suddenly be much more interested in the X5.

I think BMW main thing was to make primarily to have an electric limo. They probably succeded at that. But God they took their new design philosophy to a garish extreme. I think they were trying to incorporate some Bently (which they own) with BMW and "neo EV style" and ended up with a mongrel that not even a mother could love. I have seen cyclopic fetuses in the flesh and trust me not even that severe of an abnormality was this bad.

That’s by a person reviewing the EQS and gives an opinion. But the real world man on the street loves its looks. So, damned be the reviewers who don’t like the looks. The real world loves the looks.

Some people on the street do, some don't. People aren't so rude they would come up to you and say "Man, your car is ugly", the people who think its ugly just keep that to themselves. Its a polarizing design, there are a lot of people who don't like it. If you like it, thats all that matters.

BTW, that link is to a Reddit post. Its not a reviewer, its a "real world man on the street" lol.

The point is, believe it or not there are plenty of people who like these 7 Series' too. I don't like either car for different reasons.

It was a concerted Tesla fanboy campaign from day one. No one could say with a staight face that the model S was better than the EQS in any way (other than the Plaid in acceleration) so they had a field day saying it was ugly, an utterly subjective statement that no one can disprove.
BTW, all you hear on the net is Plaid this Plaid that, a model that is as common as the EQS AMG (not common at all) for an even higher price.

Not in the market for any new vehicle after AMG Wagon purchase last year. Gotta pay college tuition for last kid starting next month...fortunately he is staying on the GA Reservation and not going to Columbia University...lol

IMO the Hummer EV is even uglier than the I7. Am I wrong?

2020 AMG S63 Coupe makes my Wagon look like a Checker Cab. That car wins the Sleeping Beauty Award! Not sure why Mercedes retired the S Coupe. Will they bring back the SLC based upon upcoming SL63?

Low sales, less demand for 2-doors, and internal competition. No SLC is planned. SL is the luxury 2-door option, and GT is the sport 2-door option. CLE will put the C and E 2-doors together, similar to the old CLK's position within the lineup.

Outgoing S coupe will be one of the greatest MB coupes ever designed IMO, simply gorgeous and oozes style. I regret not picking one up, would still consider. Now it's all clones.

No SLC, just the SL, GT, upcoming CLE and I'm sure we already know that the interior is going to look like.
