It's been a long wait. My EQS580 has been sitting in Baltimore since about April 3. My dealer's general manager told me this morning that he spoke with the Distribution Center and he was told that they are waiting for some sort of module to arrive from Germany. They did not give an ETA. At least now, I know what's holding it in Baltimore. I guess that's progress.

I know it's agony for you waiting, but at least it sounds like it will be complete when you get it. Hope that is sooner, rather than later.

OMG not a "module" and "from Germany"! just kidding, but it doesn't sounds like something that will be resolved quickly.

My 580 was offloaded from the ship on 4/11 at Long Beach. My dealer thought there is a very good chance he would have it in Northern Cali in April. Running out of time.......

Thanks for the reply. I remember a few people here stating that their EQS was stuck in Baltimore for almost 2 months if I recall correctly. It has gotten crazy.

Mine was 24 days in Baltimore, wont be long now Applefan1, the end of the wait is near!

It looks like you’ll be right. The general manager at my dealer told me a couple hours ago that my car is now ready at the VPC. So I guess that means the module they were waiting for from Germany has arrived. So the next step is getting it on a truck on the way to my dealer. I almost feel like it’s another fake out. If it gets on a truck by late this week or early next week, it should be delivered to me sometime next week. So we’ll see. Thank you for your encouragement.

Update: My car has been released to a carrier. It should be on the way here the next day or two.

Update #3: I'm picking up my 580 late this afternoon. The only disappointment I heard from the GM is that the air fragrance system is missing due to chip shortage. I guess I can live without it. I'll send photos probably tomorrow.

In fact probably a good bad news. Your glovebox will be a lot more useful than with it.

I'm as happy as a lark. Picked up the car about an hour ago. There's a lot for me to learn, but I can you one thing right away. This car is incredibly comfortable and responsive. You hardly feel the bumps on the road. For some reason I couldn't connect to the dynamic cruise/auto pilot while driving it home. I called the salesman when I got home and he mentioned something like the ESP has to be turned on or off (can't remember which). Also, there was no owner's manual in the glove box. He said that the GM was using it to check on something and they forgot to place it back in the glove box. They will drop it off to my house tomorrow morning. That's a relief since at first I thought that there is no hard copy of the manual. Much more to follow the next few days.

On the GLS the "self steer" won't engage in "curve" mode. Im sure there is some there is some setting to be tweaked for your issue. Congrats!
MBBUX has a lot of layers. My recommendation is to sit in the car for the next few days and simply go through every available menu in the car. For me its the only way to get adept at all the goodies and what they do. Many people complain about things that don't work or are faulty just to discover that they were simply not sufficiently "trained" on the systems.

I figured out the Dynamic Cruise/Auto Pilot. It’s very simple once you turn it on. You’re right. I need to go through all the different menus. I already discovered quite a few. It will be a fun journey.

looks great! I'm curious if my one gets the fragrance system. I have wanted it on our last 3 Mercedes, and each time it wasn't available on the lot. This is the first time I did a build to order though.

The Nappa interior really looks amazing.

Here are my pros and a few cons:

Cons: No rear window sunshades, the dynamic cruise/auto pilot does not last as long as my previous 2019 S450, The stop and go feature does not seem to work on all roads.

Pros: Incredibly comfortable and quiet. Takes bumps on the roads beautifully. The 3D Burmester audio is awesome, The steering is great. I have no idea why some have been complaining about the break pedal since it seems normal to me. The range appears to be fantastic now that it’s wam enough. Even with all season tires, I have little doubt the range will exceed 400 miles. Even though I mentioned a con about the auto pilot above, it stays within the lanes better than the 2019 S450 (very smooth). Additionally, even though the auto pilot lasts about 15 seconds, all one has to do is touch the steering wheel for a split second and it continues. Acceleration is amazing. I doubt, I’ll get tired with the 580 on a long trip.

As an aside, I haven’t been able to figure out yet why the active change lane assist does not work.

Unfortunately, the fragrance system is not available. That’s the only item missing besides of course the auto closing, opening and soft closing doors. Yes, the Nappa leather is fantastic (very comfortable.

Did you guys have to pay the price increase? I got an updated copy of my build sheet from my dealer since the build finishes tomorrow, and the price has gone up to reflect the mid-year increase.

What a beautiful car. So happy for you! Hope you enjoy it for many years. I agree with your comments about the brakes...I have no problem with them at all.

I figured out why there are no rear window shades. Frameless windows! The rear shade is also pretty clear, IMO; its a hatchback.

I might have to. The dealer informed me that the spec sheet that came with the car included to increase. I told him that MB had announced that it wouldn't apply to previous existing orders. We will see if I have to pay or not. I pick up on Saturday! WooHoo!

I pick up my 580 Saturday and yes I was told by my dealer 3 weeks ago that there was a $6000+- price increase on my car, but they are selling at MSRP, so no increase at the dealer level it is all from MB.
