lease rates for the 580 for July 22

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of the MBUSA lease rates for the 580? The car will arrive soon -trying to make the choice.

Don't know about lease rates but one factor to consider/research is the tax credit. If still in place the tax credit may not be available to a lessee.

The tax credit is collected by Mercedes Financial as owner of the car, and given to the customer as a 7k increase in residual value. AT least that is how my lease was structured. It was the same with my previous leases of the Taycan and Model S.

Lease rates on my 450+ were absolutely terrible. They tried saying it was a good deal, but $500 more per month than financing through a local CU with the same down which was close to zero.

Surprising. On the MB EQS website, it shows monthly lease payments of $1289 (36 months) for a 450 with a downpayment of $9093 for "Starting at $102,310".

$9K down equals just under $300/mo reduction in monthly payment. This aligns with almost $1600/mo on a $102K car with just drive offs not counting sales tax. For comparison my M5 with a $126K sticker was under $1300/mo with just drive offs inclusive of tax.

I think there really is logic in your actions. But most likely a full purchase of a personal car would be more advantageous.

Do you really want to own a German car out of warranty?

I got rid of my owned 2002 C230 Coupe way sooner than I would have liked because I was paying MB prices for maintenance on a Chrysler.
I didn't buy out my lease on my 2011 BMW 128 and its sweet inline 6 because it was an electrical nightmare.

Besides, I love getting a new car every 3 years! If you want to own a car long term, get a Honda or Toyota. (Or an Acura or Lexus)

Back in the day I owned 2 Toyotas. They were both lemons that I had to dispose of after less than 2 years. Long term I stick with Mercedes and BMW. I just sold a 1977 Mercedes that I bought new. From a maitenance standpoint it was the best car I have ever owned. I keep cars a minimum of 6 years and have never had maintenance issues with German cars. One of my favorite was the Borgward Isabella (rip).

As for my monthly payment, it varies depending on the loan terms and interest rate. I put down a decent amount as a down payment to lower my monthly payments and the overall cost of the loan. Leasing can be a good option for those who want to drive a new car every few years and don't mind not owning the car.

A car is not an investment but a lease is a total loss.
