Frost, was the Settings screen there just like that in the loops recording window or did you somehow press something to bring it up?

Well from the looks of it, people having the problems are the ones who purchased it aftermarket. I’m sure they will eventually get things straightened out, but I’m glad I kept the dash cam on my order. I was thinking of deleting it because of the manual activation. I figured I could always add it later. But my build locked it in before I even had a chance to change the order. Now if I can only get my car on a ship. It was built on 20 July and I’m still waiting for ship assignment.

At first I was most annoyed that there was no way to enable automatic loop recording, but seeing the car report that the feature is available for only a year bothers me far more.

SirNH, I have confirmed from MBUSA that the "one year" listing is an error and the $200 is a lifetime purchase.

Now, for those of you that have been using the Dashcam for a while, Which USB outlet are you using? I purchased the Dashcam last week, and plugged the flash drive into the USB port in the storage space under the center console only to find that it didn't see the drive. I moved the drive to the outlet inside the center console and everything works fine. Including the auto start and loop.

I've now been told that the App has been corrected and is no longer showing the 1year activation.

EQS 580 with Augmented Reality…..exactly what are the steps to purchase dash cam….I have searched Mercedes ME connect and dont see….need step by step to activate the purchase…..many thanks.

I hope I have this right,
In the Mercedes Me Connect App. Click on the three bars at the top left of the home screen. Near the top you should see your car EQS--- with your tag listed. Click on that, which brings up "my garage.". Then click on Manage Services. Then on Safety and Service. You should see the Dashcam listed. As mine is activated, that is as far as I can take you. I think if you click there it will take you to the purchase window.

Thanks for the help….dash cam loaded and operating…..maybe even starts automatically???? Can anyone interpret this pop up on the center screen.

if you scroll back I have a photo that shows the car, itself, saying the feature expires on July 2023. My local service guy is looking into it as well as the auto record feature.

It means the car will always keep recording and then delete the oldest recording to record more when it runs out of space. I bought a 1TB Sandisk Luxe USB-C drive so plenty of space.

I bought a one TB also….It seems to automatically start recording when car is started.

You bought yours from the Mercedes Me app store, @goldberg ? I did too. Do you have the settings icon when you go to dashcam? If so, I wonder if this might be due to firmware. Any chance you can go to your system information and take a picture of your current firmware version?

SirNH: Happy to do that….could you advise the process to get the firmware version….bought mine with the download this morning…operating well.

@goldberg that is the exact setting that is missing from my car after buying the Dashcam feature from the app store. This has to be a firmware issue.

I have a 450+ with Hyper Screen. But it just could be that your car came off the line later, and had updates that mine does not. I spoke with my service rep and he repeated what others have said here, MB usually doesn't push out firmware updates to existing customers unless they have a known bug.

That seems like a very strange policy…..you would think that all software updates would be sent to all MB customers. I have just had the car for 10 days. EQS 580.

EQS 350 here, received it yesterday (with factory ordered dashcam).

1st day auto-recording was enabled
2nd day -> no auto-recording anymore, need to start it manually
