Any Unexpected Service Done On Your EQS?
Have you had to have your EQS taken in for anything broken or unexpected?

Dash showed Charging port door open (it wasn't). Repair took a day and 1/2 and required the tech to bend the sensor to go further in. That happened as I left the dealer after purchase, but is no longer an issue.

On my third dealer visit for a front pax headrest rattle. Hopefully, the third time is the charm because it's seriously annoying. My new service advisor also talked about being careful with the door handles since people have snapped them off...

Update: Car returned from dealer with suspension repair….EQS went from a ride like a soap box derby car to a luxury sedan……there was a part that was not properly installed at the factory.

Well, That is to be expected from a company that has only made cars for less than a year. Ooops, that is Lucid.

I have a Pinnacle trim line 450+ and apparently they needed to disassemble quite a bit of the pax seatback in order to replace the headrest correctly. Got it back a few days ago and it seems good as new, same with my rear cup holder that was getting jammed.

Only one "phantom" braking event since purchase - service team evaluated the vehicle; everything's fine.
Regardless, I feel it's fair to note, that it was a relatively violent experience (was accelerating from 65 to 70mph, then almost instantly 0).
The thing is...I was driving solo, and I've "grown up" in motorsports (on&off-road), so even though it wasn't pleasant, I wasn't "shaken up" over it. However, if my wife (not to sound sexist) had been driving, there's NO WAY she would ever trust driving nor riding in it again - let's hope that doesn't happen, because the vehicle's grown on me, you all understand 😉

My workaround for this has been to always disengage full regenerative braking whenever DISTRONIC is in use. The car coasts instead of pulling huge negative G's and is usually easily overcome by tapping the accelerator pedal.

Last week, we had a scary so-called "phantom" braking event on our 580. My wife was driving in the left-most lane on HW 280 heading to San Francisco. There was nobody in front or behind us. Suddenly the car braked and steered left around 6 feet to the left of the yellow line. We then saw a car moving ahead of us from the lane right of us. A message in red letters appeared briefly on the dashboard -- didn’t stay long enough to be read. Next day we visited our dealer in San Jose to discuss this issue, among others. The service foreman told us: “Get used to it. It is a normal on Mercedes.” He then started giving us examples of "phantom" braking he had seen on other cars. We asked if there was any way we can see the message that was shown right after the braking. He said: “No. It is shown only for 2 seconds. And there is no log kept to see it again.”

We have had a problem with door handles on 580 almost from day one. Every so often, while handles pop out, yet they can’t open the door. Handles work only on the third or fourth try. Talked with our service foreman in San Jose. He told us it is a known software problem but there is no solution available yet. He advised to call 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES and complain. He said the more people call to complain, the higher the chance to get it corrected.

Within one month here I experienced:
1. Trunk auto open/close function fail intermittent, it recoverable but takes half day at least.
2. door handle pop when click unlock on key fob. But none of the doors nor trunk can be open. It happened twice and went away like half hour.
3. 12V battery service warning sign on dash, but went away and not shown again so far.
4. driving assistant unavailable warning on dash. Also happened once but went away later.
i feel like MB need to do a better quality control job/plan for these intermittent issue capture in factory. I feel like there is no solution yet.

I'm getting messages to correct tire pressure when they're off only 1 or 2 psi. So far I'm ignoring them, as I'm not driving the car more than 20 miles at a time, and that only every couple of weeks. Not worth it to worry.
Also getting messages Driver Assistance is not functioning or words to that effect, but since I don't use it and don't want to use it, I'm ignoring it.

Like many suggestions you don’t tell me how to do that.
So How do I reset the value if that’s what I decide to do?

Press the home button on the left side of the steering wheel. Swipe to the service display. Click the OK button and that should prompt a message to reset the tire pressure monitor.

Some of these issues are pretty off putting, particularly the phantom braking. Is this (lots of annoying/concerning issues) standard for new models, or not really?
I was initially thinking I’d get a lucid but now have been leaning toward MB, BMW or Porsche because I didn’t want to basically be a “beta tester” for a new car company. But sounds like maybe we’ll just be beta testers anyway? Lol
