EQS @ MSRP

Was at my dealer in Lansing Michigan. Heard off the cuff that they were shipping EQS out of state as sales were poor.
I paid MSRP. I was told by dealership that they sell @ MSRP. G class included!!.

I don’t need to check since I took possession of my EQS580 on May 6 and paid MSRP. I was just curious since it has been very difficult if not impossible to purchase the 580 at MSRP for many months now.

Not selling? You cant get one without ordering and waiting for months!!! Ergo they are selling pretty much every one they make! The sale numbers are not because they are "not selling" it because they cant make them fast enough! Anything you see at a dealer is are dealer tester cars that no one wants unless at a deep discount.

My local MB dealer, one of 6, has 13 new EQ models available for purchase with November delivery. They are either on the lot or enroute. The only reason for waiting is if one has some specific requirements such as color, etc.

I hate to say it, but anecdotally the EQ cars are not doing well. We had some hype with the first EQS Sedans we received but that was about it. We haven't moved a single EQB, those ended up in the loaner program. We have a 2 or 3 EQS SUVs sitting on the showroom floor and a loaded up EQS Sedan. Those have been here for roughly a month now. All advertised at MSRP.

I think it may also be region dependent. The EQS Sedan's sales numbers relative to the class have been pretty decent so far (sells roughly half the number of ICE S-Class', and outsells ICE 7er and A8, sometimes combined).

I simply dont see anyone picking a 130k car at a dealership lot. If Im paying that amount I want a car to precisely meet every single option I want. This is my 5th MB, they have all been ordered.

I have a.lways factory ordered cars from my very first car to the present. It isn't about money, it is about matching desires and needs. That being said, if people have an immediate need they'll settle for whatever is a close match. If that wasn't the case dealers would limit their "on the lot inventory" to demonstrators only. Even the local Ferrari dealer has cars for immediate delivery.

EQS 450+
I think we have to realize the economy has had an apparent dramatic slowdown compared to earlier in the year. You had a lot of early adopters back then (including me) competing for limited availability, driving the price up. Those have been flushed out of the system, those who remain are going to be more cautious in spending anything over $100k, especially with competition coming from below from the likes of Hyundia/Kia, Ford and Polestar. I will admit, I was tempted to put a down payment on a Polestar 3. Oh and lets not forget, no chance in hell of any new buyer getting a tax rebate at this point, as well.

It's not surprising that the EQB isn't selling. I shopped an EQB 350 Pinacle for my daughter. On the plus side it comes in red. I eliminated it because it is only available with vinyl seating. Leather is not available.

My dealer has sold all the EQs I saw there 3 weeks ago. I bet the removal of the tax incentive has curbed some demand.

I am in fact waiting for the EQE SUV to arrive, but I do notice that in general the EQSs aren’t tough to find. Compare this to the iX which have 6-10 month waiting period. I don’t think people calling the eqs ugly is the reason for slow sales (if indeed that is the case) because the ix isn’t much prettier but it is a much loved and sought after vehicle. The price of the EQS may have something to do with it

The EQB surprises me most of all. The price is extremely competitive with it's competition and when not constrained to semiconductor and parts shortages, more feature rich, IMO.
True leather seats can't be on many cars in the EV segment, apparently electrification and a vegan lifestyle are assumed to go hand-in-hand by manufacturers. That being said, black leather seats ARE in fact available on the EQB.

I had an EQB 300 demo car for a few weeks and liked the car much more than I expected to. For the first time in a while I did not want to give it back. In my experience, the range estimates were very conservative during a moderate fall timeframe.
If there isn't a correction in gas prices in the next 18 months an EQB very likely will end up replacing my wife's Pilot.

I was looking at the Machiato Beige color. I never buy anything black. I hate the black dash and trim on my E300. Replacing and/or painting the dash was cost prohibitive.

EQS SUV
Plenty of EQS SUV's in Florida in many dealerships and they are selling for MSRP. Most of these in-stock and don't have many/if any GLS in stock.

It’s all about supply and demand. If they don’t sell after a period of time the price will come down.

EQS 450 4 matic sedan, Mercedes 550S
Just bought stock 2023 EQS 450 4 matic (dual motor) SEDAN here in San Diego at MSRP.
Not super easy to get. The dealer had to swap it with another dealer from L.A.
I had one on order with May/June 2023 ETA and decided to take this one because it was matching my preferred colors and had my must have options.
On the flip side it was loaded with $10K worth of additional options that I don't care much about but renting this kind of car for 6-7 months would be more than that.
There is an uptick in inventory right now because the 2023 models were accumulating and "on hold" at the ports for few months not to jeopardize the sales of 2022 models. 2023 models were just released.
In general my observation and my guess is that the supply will be tight once this wave phases out.

That is mystery model! Do you feel its any faster than the regular 450? If it had been available last year I might have opted for it. I love the 580 but you rarely use the full tap. The only time I really appreciate the super thrust is when passing semis in 2 lane roads. But the fact is most of the time I trying to be judicious about it to maximize range. No range anxiety per se but keeping an eye. My wife drives me nuts about waiting 1/2 an hour for a charge.
