REAR ENDED while one Pedal driving.
Since it is possible to drive and slow down without touching the Brakes ,and turning on brakelights,are there any reports of being Rearended?

It is my understanding that, like Teslas, EQS brake lights are triggered not just by touching the brake pedal, but also by the car detecting negative G-forces as occurs when the vehicle slows down. That having been said, I'm not sure how much negative G's trigger the brake lights and anecdotally, I've noticed cars behind me getting close when I just slow the vehicle gradually suggesting that the brake lights don't come on when gently lifting off the accelerator when in maximum regenerative mode.

Maximum Regeneration is the only setting that slows the vehicle down quickly so anyone rear ending someone on any of the lesser settings isn’t paying attention.

I actually had my wife follow me in the neighborhood, when I first got the car. The brake lights come on immediately in strong regen, when you decelerate. It is pretty hard braking, however, if you back off competely. I have learned to modulate the accelerator to control both acceleration and braking, and use OPD all the time in heavy traffic. I have had no problems

Watching most drivers approach a four-way stop have no idea what gentle braking is. They're in such a damn hurry to be first. So this is my theory of why drivers behind you will appear to tailgate when you're regen braking.

It's funny the other day I was out for a walk and saw cars slowing down for an light at an intersection. Most cars brake lights came on but a Tesla M3's taillights didn't. At first I thought that the brake lights weren't working but then concluded it was a function of OPD. It concerned me to watch.

I used the assistance display while in full driver assistance mode and the display shows vehicles within one lane as well as lane markers as you pass them by, similar to Tesla (and other level 2 systems) displays. Can't see any utility beyond that.

it’s a way to know what the car’s driver assist is detecting vs. what you see on the road. That’s how I use it anyway. Just for added assurance / peace of mind that the car is going to adjust speed accordingly.

It's curious that I never had this issue before when slowing down in manual transmission cars going back to when you had to double clutch to downshift.

The driver assist that shows the brake light is about ~1.5 slower to indicate brake light on. The AMG screen for the energy flow has the brake light on reaction much faster than the driver assist one. When I get some time, I will post something to explain it better. However, to be more accurate, I probably need a goPro cam to film the exterior rear and at my foot work with the pedals.
