EVgo included in 2 yr free charge or not?

Mercedes me Charge account has been activated, but I only see chargepoint account info, no where to add EVGo. No problem with EA (no rfid needed). Today I tried EVGo station and got "Error : payment authorization failed....". Am I or my sales person missing some setup step? thanks

RFID Card

At ChargePoint and EVGo stations, your RFID card is the preferred method of payment authentication. Scan your card, and the charger will authenticate using your Mercedes me Charge account to begin the charging session.

Only one I see on our app is Electrify America. Used it a couple times so far and it's easy. You just plug it in and it recognizes the car and your account by itself.

I ran the car down to 9% a couple weeks ago to see how the charging speed looks. It was very impressive, and super easy.

I don't think EVgo is free. The brochure just said EA for 2 years for my EQE anyways. But ChargePoint IS supposed to handle payments to EVgo through the credit card you register in the Mercedes Me app. That's never worked for me. So I downloaded the EVgo app, created a new account and got their own RFID card in the mail. It's just easier to deal with them directly IMHO. No fuss no muss.

I remember years ago when you had to carry 6-8 separate credit cards for all the different gasoline stations. Once VISA and Master Card came out it made it a lot easier just to carry one card. Hopefully this will happen with charging stations also. We have two retail strip centers in our area needing apps I have never heard of and can imagine the hassle of dealing with so many different companies. So far I have only charged at home.

OK

thanks guys, We have more evgo stations here in bay area than EA, but evgo is not cheap, and chargepoint is too slow. Guess I have to install a home charger for $1500.

The lower your battery is when you plug in, the higher the charge rate will be.

The EQS charge curve was posted here: https://insideevs.com/news/573179/me...ging-analysis/
Looks like 200kW can be sustained between 0 and 30% state of charge, then gradually ramps down from there. Also depends if the battery is warm enough to handle it.

Free charging is only at EA, which will automatically detect the VIN and open up charging. Mercedes gives you a RFID tag that let you use the EVGo and Chargepoint networks (paid).
