Mercedes-Benz and Microsoft are partnering to test in-car ChatGPT artificial intelligence, available to more than 900,000 vehicles in the U.S., the companies announced Thursday.
The luxury automaker said the emerging technology will be used for audio requests through its “Hey Mercedes” voice assistant, which is expected to greatly expand the system’s capabilities.
Mercedes said an optional beta program for U.S. customers will begin Friday. Customers can enroll via the company’s app, called Mercedes me, or directly from the vehicle using the voice command, “Hey Mercedes, I want to join the beta program.”

not to my surprise given they wanted to be the "forefront" of technology as evident with the latest W214 E-Class and many other MB products in the last few years. I guess when everyone is doing electric they want to use gimmicks to stand out and be different, or maybe it might not be a gimmick to some.

I have had a couple interactions with ChatGPT in the car and so far it seems to be pretty good.
Nothing revolutionary but it does offer more interaction with Hey Mercedes instead of her just saying "I cant help you with that"

Previous "Hey Mercedes" features aren't broken for you right? Like "open the sunroof" was concerned because several forum members reported things breaking after joining the beta.
