This morning, my EQS would not start. After several attempts and multiple inoperative messages, I needed a tow. Of course once the flatbread arrived, the car started without issues. It's at the dealership now where at the very least, the recall will be addressed.
Sorry for your problem. 🙁
I still do not understand how one puts the EQS into tow mode to have it pulled up onto a tow truck when you cannot get it to start in the first place.

When first trying to start, the car wouldn't go into "Ready". Several attempts even waiting 5 mins in a separate attempt, no change.. About 15 -20 mins when the flatbed arrived, I attempted to start again. It started with no issues🤷.
One of the things that frightens me about so much being computer controlled. One little glitch and the whole system can go down. Being born in the 1950’s so much I don’t trust. Totally mechanically devices have their advantages sometimes. My oldest car is 124 years old and starts every time and has never left me stranded. Air conditioning would be nice though….😇

Sounds like here too a deep reset was all that was needed. Unfortunately this deep reset occurs only once the car is locked, keys away from the car (or KG disable from the key) for 15 to 20 minutes. The MBUX appears to freeze more often than the car itself but it can be reset from the MBUX power button, usually no need to run the 20 minute wait procedure (and the issue occurs less often with current SW). The minimum wold be to have a similar "immediate full reset" for the drive system.
We cannot assume full redundancy, even on a dual engine motor but it should be possible to move the car slowly some distance if at all the very necessary parts on the car are fine. Now I've been told that the does not enter ready mode even if the heater resistor fails. Yes driving would become dangerous if windows get blocked by moisture etc. but a complete stop is an overkill (not necessary good for safety).

It's nice that you still have the car you drove in high school. I'm not sayin' yer old but...
I'm pretty sure they're using containers which are isolated and immutable so there's actually very little danger of a glitch taking down the whole system. Containers can also be restarted without rebooting the entire system, which is probably what's happening when the car wakes up from a deep sleep state.

Watch what you say you young whippersnapper and have a little respect for your elders. I’ve got underwear in the washing machine right now that are older than you are! 😊
I've had the tire pressure issue in the past. I ignored originally because I'm CA, the weather is all over the place and tire pressure changes. I've learned the EQS is really sensitive. The following is currently what my app is saying. So, I'm not sure if it's the whole tire sensors out or not. Either way, I pulled the trigger on the tow and service so we'll see what they say.

Hmmm interesting, I see. Well, since you already sent the car in now like you said all you can do is wait till they tell you what caused it and have the car fixed that way.
