(Asking for a friend....)
My Chargepoingt CCS cable is replaceable. No adapter needed, If I ever get a car with NACS I will decide if I will replace the cable or use an adapter. I don't know about other EVSE's.
But the adapter does not change the charging speed.

Is the current Tesla plug and NACS essentially the same?

To clarify, home chargers use J1772 (which is just the top portion of the full CCS connector). And you can already buy J1772 to Tesla and also Tesla to J1772 adapters which work with Tesla destination chargers to MBZ vehicles and for Tesla's to charge at non-Tesla L2 chargers. So for existing home chargers, if NACS and current Tesla is the same you can just get one of those existing adapter, but chances are MBZ will offer one also.

The current L2 adapter from the EQS to the Tesla destination chargers is AC. To adapt from our EQS to the Level 3 Tesla chargers is a different physical set up and DC. Someone correct me if I am wrong….

You are correct. I think the above discussion was about whether home chargers would have to be replaced when you buy a new MB EV in a couple of years.

I don't see people replacing their home L2 chargers with J1772 connectors since the J1772 -> NACS adapters are readily available. I am currently using a Tesla J1772 Wall Connector, but regret not purchasing a Tesla Wall Connector with the NACS plug given the industries direction to support this connector in the near future.

For those of us with the Enel X Juicebox. The following is in response to the question about conversion to NACS.

So they will start making units that have the NACS instead of CCS and make adapters for currently installed DC kits. Nothing about adapters for Level 2 home kits. Time will tell.

I think for day in day out charging, dealing with the bulky and heavy adapter each and every time is PITA.

Now, my dilemma. Would be getting MY24 car, so I guess installing a NACS EVSE is the way to go? But have to deal with adapter for the next 3 to 4 years?
Vs j1772 charger now and no adapter, and then adapter for my next EVs indefinitely?
