Dark Spots in the Headlights
Since the day I got my car, I have noticed some annoying dark spots that only appear at night. Although it might seem trivial, it can be quite distracting. I had the same issue with my previous Lexus, where the dark protrusions looked like fangs. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this issue before. Before reaching out to MB service, I thought I'd ask here first. You can see the areas of concern on the left in the video. Please disregard the dark spot at the beginning as it was just a bug or some other debris. 😄

Why it is there I do not know but has been present on both EQS Sedans I have driven and my EQS SUV I drive. You are not alone…..

Mine are not dark spots in the beam projected. It is a definite downward pointing triangle from the top of the light projection on the left side and these I saw also on the other ESQ’s at night.

Mine move with the steering wheel and if you search these forums it's not just MB's EVs that have this "feature". I assume its to prevent the super bright low beam LEDs from blinding on-coming traffic. I have my high beams set to auto and at least in the suburbs of a big city they NEVER turn on. "Auto" high might as well be off. So clearly it's something someone at MB was really worried about. I suppose they could probably get the @#%% sued out of them if people like died.
In any case, no dealer will install any new software on my EQE 500 SUV until my two years service date comes up or I trade it in, whichever comes first.

These spots go away when you switch to high beam. I suspect they are designed (since always on the left) to reduce the glare for oncoming drivers. They do not bother me at all.

They all have cutouts on the driver's side low beams. Its a very hamfisted effort to avoid glare. The car comes with an intelligent lighting system which is partially disbled in the US. Those spots are supposed to be dynamic thus go on and off but since the system is not US certified we get the crappy cutouts. Please note its a software thing. Mercedes could solve the issue with a simple update.
