Talking MB EQS Hood Emblem and 3-Pointed Star Alignment

We’ve all experienced it - that moment when we’re walking by our cars, and something catches our eye. Suddenly, we’re leaning in, stepping back, tilting our heads, and even doing some impromptu squats, all in an attempt to decide whether we are looking at an optical illusion. It’s like we’re performing some kind of interpretive dance to figure out what’s going on. And let’s be real, sometimes we even try to rationalize it, hoping it’s just a figment of our imagination. But deep down, we know the truth - that little something we saw is real, and it’s bugging us. And no, I’m not actively seeking out imperfections to complain about; they just seem to find me! Moments like these remind us that even the most minor details can grab our attention and ignite our frustration. Take, for example, the Mercedes Benz hood emblem sitting ever so slightly askew of the three-pointed star in the center “grille.”It’s enough to drive me bonkers, at least for a minute! Has this been noticed by anyone else on their EQS?

OCD, bro. I don't see it unless you put up a leveler and a 90 degree ruler. You'll also noticed that are hardly any straight lines on a car too.

Emblem looks centered on hood to me. It's the grill that's off slightly. If you look next to the headlights on each side there's more of the bumper showing on one side than the other.

I think the difference you are describing is due to the camera angle.

What angle would that be? Straight on? You can also see the lighting is pretty diffused and about even on both sides.

In any case, the grill emblem is clearly misaligned vs the hood ornament. You'd have to be blind not to see it.

Thank you! I thought I was going to have to look elsewhere for some confirmation bias!

Dear fellow OCDers,

I confess. I'm not seeing the imbalance or off center of the emblem or the side lights. Could you point it out via some illustrations or measurements either by distance or angle? I do admit, the panel gaps is a few millimeter off from one side to the other. That could be a manufacturing tolerance.

I'll provide the requested images as soon as I can since I'm currently on my phone.

Wait til you notice all the little vents/slats behind the lower grille aren't straight either. They're a little angled for some reason. But they're all like that, it's not just yours

OP I understand your frustration but this is nothing compared to the off centre front cam that E 63 S facelift owners have to deal with: https://cdn.carbuzz.com/gallery-imag...21902-1600.jpg

As well as the S 63 E Performance owners (with the LiDAR sensor optioned) that soon will have to deal with.

Yes, others have noticed this on their EQS as well. It seems to be a minor alignment issue with the emblem, and some owners have had dealerships adjust it. If it bothers you, it might be worth mentioning at your next service visit.
