EQS sedan and SUV wheel and winter tires

Hi I have a 2023 450 eqs suv and 580 sedan .
any recommendation on the wheels that can be used on the cars .
the sub has staggered fit
275/45/R21 9.5Jx21
285/45/R21. 10Jx21

can these tires fit
Mercedes-Benz GLS 2020 Winter Wheel Package Pirelli Scorpion Winter MO1 275/50R21
Front wheel 9J x21 ET45
Rear wheel 9Jx21 ET36

what would be appropriate wheel size as the wheels are very expensive from the dealership .

Late model GLS wheels use M15x1.25 lug bolts. Plus the offset on the wheels is different from the EQS wheels. There is no reason that you need staggered wheels for the Winter wheel set. You can get 20" wheels with a "296" part number from Alloy Wheels Direct in the UK. The 20" wheels allow you to use less expensive tires.

You need to decide on your wheel size before choosing a tire. The same tire may not be available in both 20" and 21" sizes.

U said 20 would be better , which size and tires don’t decrease the range too much . Winters in Alberta are very cold .

The tire size for 20" tires is 265/50-R20. I averaged 2.5 mpkWh with 21" AS tires on aero wheels over 24000 miles. I averaged 2.6 mpkWh with 20" AS tires on non-aero wheels over 20500 miles. Winter tires will probably take a hit on mileage. It will be difficult to determine the amount of mileage loss due to using Winter tires since the colder temperatures will also negatively impact mileage. In my comparison of 21" and 20" AS tires each were used for about the same mileage over 4 seasons. I will update my mileage calculations when I reach 24000 miles on the 20" tires.

Anyone know if 18" wheels can fit on an EQS580? I have set of 18x7.5 wheels with a 42mm offset with 225/65R18 snow tires already mounted. I wanted to check in before manually trying them out. Thanks.

20" is the minimum for the EQS SUV. With a 20" wheel you will have about 8mm of clearance between the wheel barrel and the front caliper of the SUV. I am not sure about the EQS sedan.

The part number on my EQS SUV front rotor is A-297-423-05-00, which is definitely an EQS sedan part number. A 19" wheel will definitely not clear the caliper on the EQS SUV. You can see from the photo that there is less than 1/2" clearance between the 20" wheel and front caliper.

Rotors are the same but those are not the calipers on the sedan! They look beefier. Or are they simply red? Again, Ive running a set of the EQS450 19's for 2 winters now.

I've bought a couple sets of wheels from here...they are the best. For those of us who also have old MB, they somehow still manage to have new wheels that went out of production a decade ago. They usually have a good sale at the end of the year.

At the risk of getting flamed, the only time you need MO or MOE tires is when you are returning your car at the end of lease or when you are trading it in with sufficient tread depth to pass the CPO inspection. I believe CPO certification requires MO tires. Your trade is technically worth more with MO tires unless they are worn out. I would not worry about the MO designation on Winter tires, especially if they are on an extra set of wheels that will not be included with your trade-in.

MOE are not necessary to return the car after a lease or for anything. All MOE represents is that they were designed specifically to MB specs for a certain vehicle. You can equip your car with any tire you wish.

Since the SUV and sedan rotors are the same part number I can't imagine the sedan calipers being any smaller than the calipers on my SUV. I am wondering if the 19" sedan wheels have a slightly larger barrel than typical 19" MB wheels. My experience has been that the minimum wheel diameter is usually 4" greater than the diameter of the rotors.

Our 2023 EQS 450 SUV came with Pirelli Scorpion Winter 275/45 R21 110V XL (non run flat) installed on the car by the dealer so we had no choice in winter tires. That being said the tires worked well and we are happy with them. We did a return trip in April to Brandon MB from Saskatoon SK , a distance of 620 km each way, during a blizzard and the tires worked fine without a misstep. No or very little snow buildup on the highway on the way there (snow blew straight across the highway) but the last 200km on the return trip was on hard packed snow/ice and the tires worked well at the 90km speed limit. Sorry no experience with the Michelin but my guess is they would be fine as well depending on your local conditions and driving habits.

Super helpful! I got a 450 from AZ and it has "summer tires" -- but we're in Colorado.
Guy at Discount Tire recommended switching out to 20" rims and 275 50/20, was just about to ask if that would be ok

The width of the widest OEM is 265. Beware of fitment.

If you have an EQS SUV then the correct tire size for 20” wheels is 265/50-R20.

Currently the EQS 450 4Matic has staggered "summer tires" with 275/45/21 in front and 285/45/21 in back. Didn't even realize we could make them consistent until Discount Tire guy suggested it, and confirmed in this forum! THANK YOU
