12V Socket Retrofit
I would like to retrofit my missing 12V socket (24 EQS 580). I read a post here where someone installed it in the center console. However, I would like to make it as original as possible, like in the 22/23 model years. I can't find the part number on https://mbparts.mbusa.com/. I remember that there used to be a paid access option for Mercedes spare parts, which was better and more user-friendly. Does anyone have an idea if that still exists or where I can otherwise find the part number and wiring for it?

Ah, good old value engineering gone awry. Same thing with our ‘19 coupe, have to run a power cable from the back seats for the radar detector.
The coupe also came with a cargo net for the boot but only two hooks to use it. I’m sure that someone in the Fatherland got an award for saving 5€.

This has been discussed in previous posts, but I thought that for some strange reason MB only put in a 12 v plug if the car was ordered with non run flat tires. I ordered my 23 eqs 580 sedan with summer tires and the car came with a small spare tire and pump in the trunk that utilized the 12 v plug. Why the plug is not in the trunk or why they just didn’t install the plug on all cars is a mystery to me. Do they think that just because the car came with run flats that someone wouldn’t install non run flats in the future?? Someone member previously went to great lengths explaining how to install a plug either on the console or next to the glove box.

Thanks @Radman991 That makes sense. I would like to install the original but can't find the part number. Unfortunately, I'm getting little help on where to look for it. I don't necessarily need it, but my phone can charge at 67 watts (One Plus open), and the USB port doesn't support the protocol and charging speed.

Take a good look @ the capabilities of a USB-C to 12 v adapter. In my searching for them, I could not find a robust enough one to run a tire compressor or vacuum.
The better offerings usually indicate their capabilities.

On another note, it amazes me that there is no 12v socket anywhere in my 2022 EQS 580. Other users reported they had the one under the glove compartment, but not in my mine. If you do get a part number & decide to install yourself, please share any particulars.

I guess this is my rant day…..
After ownership of three Teslas & a Genesis EV, it amazes me how Mercedes is treating the EQS. In my experience, the OTA updates which are very infrequent as well as no added features is indicative of a legacy manufacturer (ok Mercedes) that just is not too keen on using the inherent hardware/software to address added value to the consumer. Another bottleneck is the dealer not offering to update the software unless there is an issue. I believe the underlying problem is of course the enormous amount of ECUs that have to be addressed in an update & the potential issues that can occur from a service point of view.
Let me hasten to add that compared to any Tesla currently manufactured, Mercedes still knows how to build a great luxury vehicle in fit, finish, handling, & performance. As this was their first foray in the luxury EV space, they got many things right & it is still one of my favorite (if not favorite) cars. So, my above commentary is more a report or hoping they can do better in those areas. True, given sales of the EQS, it is not for everyone with polarizing design & price. My take is given some time, Mercedes evs will continue to get even better. This owner is still finding enough user salient points to not trade out, trade-up, or trade down.☺️

I didn't receive a charging cable either, but that was at least marked on the build sheet as being removed. Bought one from Amazon to have in the car just in case I needed one.
